Anyone deal with Motor City Resin Casters?
Eric T replied to gbtr6's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Bob, Absolutely Correct. I have had this issue with a well known HO Model Train Resin caster who is no longer in business. Waiting 6 month for Resin Freight cart kits. He took checks only and cashed them immediately upon receipt. I have learned my lesson many times. 1) Investigate the Vendor you are buying Mail Order from. Check Google for Complaints etc. 2) Pay by Pay-Pal or Credit card, Never mail a Personal check or Money Order ! Never pay by Bank Debit card ! 3) Make sure that the Vendor has a working Contact Phone number as well as a Working email account, Get a Verification by email or phone that the Vendor has received your payment. 4) Make sure that you request a Shipping date or Approximate date for your item to be shipped, Request an email notification when item is shipped. 5) ALWAYS get a Tracking Number ! 6) Make sure you know the maximum date you can file a claim with the Credit card Company or Pay-Pal and if you have Not received your package, FILE A CLAIM, BEFORE the Deadline. 7) Remember MOST On Line Vendors of Hobby Products are HONEST ! Only a few are Bad Apples. HAPPY MODELING . -

UPDATE: As of 8/18/23, No Response from Mr. Ballard to Pay Pal regarding my order. No Response to my repeated emails on the status of my Kit order. After a Follow up call, Pay-Pal Closed the case and I will get All my Money Back within Three Days. Pay Pal assured me that they will Shut Down the Pay-Pal Link from Motor City's Website. Mr. Ballard will No longer be able to Rip Off Modelers again ! Too Bad, I was looking forward to that 1967 Mustang Hardtop Kit as well as That 1967 Galaxie HT. Well at least I got the $114.00 back to my Credit Card. So PLEASE BEWARE, Consider Motor City Resin OUT OF BUSINESS ! CASE CLOSED ! -

All, Just an update on my order with Motor City Resin. On July 10th of 2023 I ordered Two Resin Kits, listed on their website. The Payment function was working, so I assumed that they were still in Business. I saw No mention of Fulfillment time or expected Delivery timeline. I have sent Four emails to his email address listed on the site with No Reply from Jeff Ballard. I asked for Order conformation and an expected approximate ship date. I waited 30 days and still No response. (By Federal Law, On Line retailers Must notify a Buyer by email, Phone or US Mail, if they cannot fulfill an order within 90 days) of placement. So All of you that waited a Year for your Kit, this fellow is clearly skirted Federal law. I Contacted PayPal since my payment went thru that company. They are Contacting the Owner and I should know in Nine days if He responds or not. If he doesn't contact me, then I will request a Full Refund as well as his account being Audited for Fraud. Yes, I know Jeff makes great kits, and they are very desirable for 1/25 Scale Modelers but I am getting tired of these Cottage Businesses getting away with taking your money and not giving you the decency of an email response, when you send an inquiry. Maybe this guy is Ill, or something else, If So I hope he recovers, but Stop Taking peoples Money! If you Cannot provide the Product in a Reasonable time frame, If you are Too Ill to answer an email, then Please SHUT DOWN YOUR WEBSITE! I will update this Post when I hear from Pay-Pal, But I advise All of you, Avoid this Seller, until Someone posts that they have actually made contact with this Owner in the last 30 Days or Actually Received a Kit in the past 30 days. Mr. Ballard needs to be reported to the Michigan State Attorney Generals office. You may think I am being Harsh, But after reading all these claims of never receiving kits or waiting Two years to get a Kit, Someone needs to Take Action ! Being Ill is No excuse for Taking Payments and Not producing the product in a Timely manner. If Jeff can Move money out of Pay-Pal into his Bank account, He can Reply to an email ! -
amt 1202 1/25 AMT 1963 Chevy II Nova Station Wagon - Craftsman Plus
Eric T replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Steve, I think that Round 2 will be out some money on this kit, if it does Not sell. As far as I can see, they tooled a Completely New interior bucket ( The Original had Both Seats molded in, the New one has a separate Rear seat part). Secondly, the Body is New Tooling also, since it does Not have the molded in " Under the Hood" details that the original kit had, i.e. Radiator, Wire detail, Battery etc. The Front bumper/Grill is new since there are No molded in Headlight detail (Separate Clear Lenses). It looks to me that the Only original part in this kit is the under frame chassis, wheel backs, axle spacers and stuffed animal. The Glass maybe original, not sure. So All in All, Round 2 Spent a good bit of money on New tooling for this kit, I am sure they expect it to sell well or received a lot of requests for it. Happy to see it re-issued. I am expecting a future Coca Cola Version LOL ! as well as a Drag car with a V8 Engine and Drag Parts. Eric T.- 599 replies

New Kits of Old Subjects from Round2
Eric T replied to Casey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I’d like to see the AMT 1964 Falcon Funny Car re issued. The MPC 1969 Firebird OHC 6 Hood restored and the kit reissued with nice Trans Am decals. Maybe re tool a 67 body and seats. My biggest wish list is to see the “Wild Dream “ and “ Uncertain T” double kit re issued, if it still exists. Anyone know if it does ? Another easy one is the Mod Rod retooled for an original “Ala Kart” just needs sone engine parts. Radiator and front cowling, and exhaust parts. Plus a nice decal sheet. The AMT ERTL version is a disaster with a 1/32 scale engine, skinny exhaust pipes and incorrect decals. -
Oh, I’m not worried. I’m ordering an engine from MCW and I have a Battery to cut down, the 63 Corvette master cylinder with booster looks more AMT than the Revell parts. I have an extra Radiator from the 63 Tempest Kit I can use. And scrap Generators cut down work for heater blowers. You are probably right that this kit is ment to be either a shelf model, Promo Clone or a base for a Drag car model.

1/25 AMT 1964 Olds Cutlass F85 Convertible
Eric T replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Just found out that Round 2 is re-issuing the 1964 Old's F-85 Convertible kit, in March of 2021. Too Bad I have an original issue kit but with 20% of the parts off the sprues. I think the value just took a nose dive. Well I think that I will build this one stock and get the new issue to build the Race version with the Judson Super chargers. My kit is 100% complete so if Round 2 leaves any custom or race parts out, I will have them. Just need some decent decals, since mine are useless at at 57 years of age. I never expected to see this kit available again ever. Ditto on the new 1963 Nova wagon. My wish is to have Round 2 re release the AMT " Wild Dream" and "Uncertain T" double kit, if it still exists. Anyone know if it does ? -

In regards to the New Round 2 issue of the 1963 Nova Wagon coming in January 21, I just checked my 65 AMT Nova Craftsman built up, with a un/ glued hood. There is tons of detail there. Why did Round 2 leave out the Master Cylinder, Radiator, Heater Blower, Wire detail and Battery cover? If they copied an original AMT 63 Nova Wagon, all that detail would be there, so there must be a reason they left it out? They even cut out a hole for a Radiator but no part is included. Attached are photos of the New are Tooled 63 Nova Wagon, my 65 Hard Top and an Original Craftsman 63 Nova Wagon with under hood details. Big difference. Any thoughts? I suspect that another version with an engine and under hood detail parts is coming later. Not sure why this kit was released this way. If you collect Promo’s or like to build Craftsman kits, such as the 1964 Caliente then you don’t mind this kit version. If you want the correct Engine, Model Car World sells a Resin AMT Six Cylinder from the 64 Nova Kit.
