Hi everyone,
I've been out of the hobby for a few years and have just broken out my collection of 1/43 kits to start building again, but that's not what my questions are about. We lost my Father-in-Law last year and are just now getting around to cleaning out his basement. I'm not sure, but it appears that I may have a few "barn finds" on my hands. He was the consumate collector, and everything had value to him. My wife's childhood toys are all in perfect shape and the boxes are stored in a cabinet in the basement. In another cabinet I found several old model kits, most still factory sealed. Most of the kits are '55-'57 T-birds to go with his '56 T-bird (bought new and still in the family), but there ae some ohters that I think may be significant due to there condition and rarity. These are:
1965 Monogram Darryl Starbird Predicta, MIB with a mint box. The parts are all still connected to the sprues and the instructions are perfect. Kit # PC/150
1964 Revell '31 Ford Woody kit # H-1275:200 Mint box, parts still in the factory sealed bag.
1955 Revell AMT Modern Car Kit '55 Mercury. Mint Box, parts in a plastic bag, no sprues, but it looks like none were ever provided. This kit is OLD! Kit #H-1204:98
There are roughly 30 kits total, but these are, in my opinion, the superstars. Any advice on where to get them appraised? As much as I would like to put them on display, they belong to my Mother-in-Law, and I have agreed to sell them for her. Any help is appreciated,
Rich
