  1. This is my recently completed 1999 Dodge Dakota SLT. This kit is from Lindberg and is very simple. The model came as an extended cab but I decided to cut it down to make the regular cab version. I also modified the suspension to give it a little lift, you can see from the box that it sat a little low for a 4 x 4. The model and parts come prepainted but I repainted evrything to make the Dakota the SLT model with chrome bumpers. I had a lot of trouble with the painting since it's been extra humid in Florida recently.
  2. Cool Samurai! The detailing on the dash is really great!
  3. I have an extra set I can sell you. They will need sanding as you can see in the pictures (I painted them thinking the paint would make them look smoother but it didn't). I will send an email to RMR seeing if he would like to cast them in resin. The ones I have are made from a composite infiltrated with epoxy so they are fragile to work with.
  4. Thanks! I'll try that.
  5. It's 1987 Suzuki Iceland Blue Metalic code 09R, I was able to get it in a 12 oz. spray can from Automotivetouchup. It's just a base coat paint so I used 3 coats of gloss clear over it. It did melt the plastic cup I sprayed it into first but the model didn't melt.
  6. That's a great looking truck! Those wheels look cool with it.
  7. It will be 4 wheel drive and I'm planning on going dark blue like this one below. YJIslander that picture you posted is exactly how the model kit came with the older style grill.
  8. Thanks everyone! khart here is a picture of her on the side like many real Samurai's in the 80's! Also another picture of her topless. I don't like how the tires came out but I couldn't figure out how to do white letter tires that matched the ones I had, any suggestions?
  9. This is my next project, it is a resin Jeep Grand Wagoneer from RMR that uses the Revell Jeep Honcho as a donor. I wanted the wheels to look authentic so I had them made by 3 Dimension Design on their 3D printer. My plan is for this Jeep to look like the 1987 model so I have to modify the grill, dashboard and bumpers. Also I have to make decals that replicate the wood paneling. It should be an interesting project.
  10. Thanks rolltide! I wish they still made them too, it was a great little 4 x 4.
  11. This is my first post and my first build in a long time. I decided to do a model of my first car. This kit was from fujimi, I switched the wheels with Jeep CJ wheels that more closely match the Samurai I had. The paint is automotive paint that is covered with a few layers of clear. I scratch built the brush guard, mud flaps and spare tire cover. Also I recreated the stripes from a scanned picture of the original Samurai.
