  1. That's right, there's no firewall and the engine has only a moderate level of detail, Therefore, I plan on gluing the hood shut and dressing up the bottom of the engine a bit and filling the axle holes in the oil pan. I'll also add styrene stubs to mount the front wheels. Thanks for all the feedback. David G.
  2. My Achilles heel is whatever I'm working on at the time. My ambitions frequently exceed my skills and by the time my skills catch up, my ambitions have out-paced them again. The cycle never seems to end! David G.
  3. Yep, that's Phoenix PD. Good work on this one. David G.
  4. Here's an update on my 63 Chevy. Curiously, I couldn't find any copyright or trademark info on the body or chassis, so I don't know who made the kit, but here it is any way. Disassembly was not too difficult. Young or inexperienced builders tend to paint parts then glue them together. This makes the parts easy to seperate. After a trip to the purple pond, I put a shot of primer on the body to see what kind of prep work I needed to do. Mostly just the standard mold lines and sink marks... I did have to add a strip of styrene to one side of the hood so it would look better between the fenders. Thanks for looking! David G.
  5. With the right background, this might pass for a 1:1. Clean, solid build. David G.
  6. It's also one month colder in Canada than it is in the States. Late November in Canada is like late December in the States. It makes sense to have a harvest holiday before the ground freezes. David G.
  7. The Nash is interesting. I don't think I've ever seen one of those in kit form. I've done some more work on my Chevy, but I need to get a new cable for my camera so I can post the pics. David G.
  8. Great engine! The shopping cart trailer is a nice touch David G.
  9. Most of us can, but there are people out there who actively look for reasons to be offended and upset, and people like that aren't usually happy until they make their displeasure known to all. David G.
  10. Romell, I love your solution for the fire supression bottles. That's what this hobby's all about! David G.
  11. It just keeps getting better! David G.
  12. Very Cool! I love your take on the jet engine. David G.
  13. Pretty in pink! Great paintwork and detail! David G.
  14. I was thinking that the time was drawing near again. I'll be there too! David G.
  15. Paint, stance, wheels, everything comes together as a whole. Many times the kit wheels work just fine, sometimes they don't. I don't automatically lower or lift each build; it depends on the effect I'm trying to achieve. I've never put 30 inch wheels on a classic muscle car, nor have I ever put mud cleats on an Italian sports car. I've not had a reason to do either. But, you never know... David G.
  16. Chris, Awesome work on the 57 Chevy truck. I've always liked those trucks, they look like they mean business! Keep up the good work. David G.
  17. That was my first thought, If the struts failed and it fell on someone, it'd likely maim or kill them. A modified hatch back would actually work a bit better. Make it so just the rear window and frame lift together, and leave the rear clip and 300 lb bumper where it is. Sort of like a sedan trunk. I know it's not really practicle for a wagon, but the Turbine Car was not really practicle in the first place. Just a thought. David G.
  18. There are a lot of nightmare builds being turned into dream cars here, excellent work, everyone! It's time for me to jump in on this one. I've been looking for an excuse to rebuild this old 63 Chevy ever since I got it. On to the disassembly plant! David G.
  19. The color combination is striking, it reminds me of a big pool of cool water. "Summertime" really works as a name for this one. David G.
  20. What is there to say that hasn't been said? Excellent work, lovely detail! David G.
  21. As a funeral director, I have access to pall bearer gloves. We buy them by the case and, at funeral services, give them away like hotcakes. If you call a local funeral home and tell them what you want them for, they just may give you a couple of pairs. David G.
  22. I love the old turbine cars. This is a great take on the concept, and well done. The weathering adds a nice touch to it. David G.
