  1. Cool Volksrod!
  2. Well, it may have taken an hour or 2, but well worth it I hope. Next step will be vacuumforming the louvers over the mold I've made.
  3. Testing the mold in the window opening before adding the last details and vacuum-form it.
  4. I suddenly got the idea of having black plastic louvers over the rear window. So, i made a mold and will vacuum-form it, just like the 1:1 scale would've been!
  5. The seats got some red piping and will be painted semi flat black.
  6. I'v been rather busy during the summer. But now back in the saddle - building VW in 1/24th scale. I realized, that once the black paint goes on, the clear green wind deflector will hardly be seen. So I cut the whole sunroof out, making it look like an open sunroof and hopefully that will give an extra highlight to the deflector.
  7. Very impressive build! Well done research as well. However, in 1968 the VW got 4-bolt wheels. So the wide-5 bolt pattern will not be correct on this model. I'd suggest you try to find more correct wheels , this stunning build really deserves that !
  8. Cool color combo and well done! I really enjoy seeing a T2 built up like this!
  9. Got the wind deflector done yesterday and tested it. Works great!
  10. Today I started on the wind deflector for the sunroof. It just needs to be trimmed along the edges now.
  11. I ditched a few things and added wheels and dashboard from 1/25 scale kits. Home printed decals. Exhaust trumpets are metal bead cones.
  12. A somewhat rare kit from a japanese manufactor, Blue Tank (also issued by Nitto/Kagaku in 1971). I wanted to do something really odd for my collection of goofy "themed show rods". The drivers head comes from a PEZ dispenser (as usual). It's a curbside kit, so I just made a new chassie-plate for it with something looking like a 6 cyl boxer engine in the rear. The rest is spare parts and pure imagination.....
  13. Originally a 1967 model, turned into 1959 specs. Engine was tuned up w a blower and twin carbs. Suspension lowered, chrome spoke wheels from a 1/32 scale Cadillac, scratchbuilt see-thru roof.
  14. I got this 3D printed body from a friend in Norway. I made some changes to it and also got another steering wheel for it, along with wheels from a 1/32 scale car and some scratchbuilt parts like taillights , bumpers and the surrey top w bars. Decals were printed on my HP laser printer.
  15. Nice to see a bone stock VW. Well done !
  16. WOW! Lovely build !
  17. Nice work! Very suitable "grille" !
  18. I'm also planning to do a wind deflector in clear green plastic for the sunroof . The Lemmertz wheels and narrow Michelin tires are 3D printed by USCP in Ukraine to my own specifics.
  19. ONE small "custom detail" to this otherwise stock model will be an air scoop to the engine lid. I made it from Plastic card and Evergreen profiles:
  20. Thanks, yes You don't see them in scale very often. And this will be a 1975 model, meaning no turn signals on the front fenders.
  21. I also made new floor mats and scratchbuilt a "tunnel" for the gear linkage. Here's a pic with the "new" seats which still have to be slightly re-constructed. The interior will be just as black as the rest of the car, but with some red piping to the seats just to lighten up the interior some.
  22. Time for the interior. I found a stock steering wheel in my spare parts bin and the inner door panels were altered to Sedan configurations.
  23. Rear part has been done Up front the chassie look pretty good, but I've decided to lower the suspension approx 1/16" so I hade to put some minor work into that....
