Very cool, one of my favourite movies, only thing I can see missing is a red 58 Plymouth jammed into the side of it

Very nice. It's really cool to see how far you've come in the hobby. Keep up the fantastic work.

Thank you, it weighs enough Thank you. Peter's the one who I'm forever grateful to, if it wasn't for him most of this wouldn't be possible.

Small update. My friend Peter cad designed all the instrument panels for the dash, he also machined the mirrors, headlight surrounds, grill & bumper. He showed me how to make the spotlights on the lathe. I have contacted Jan @ CTM to see if he will do the instrument panels, I hoping. The dash is available to be cast by? The only kit chrome left is the roof lights so if anyone knows where I might acquire some metal/aluminium lights from, please let me know or I may have to learn to cast them myself. Yes, this is the AMT kit & I have opened the doors & I now have to rebuild the interior. I may get this finished yet.

Just had the panels cad designed, next glue them onto some aluminium sheet then onto cutting up a couple of CTM instrument panels for the switches, ignition switch, etc, this is where it gets expensive, hopefully Jan will contact me be I start cutting & hacking & tell me that he's going to go ahead & make the needed panels.

X2 but I don't throw the cap, they stack easier.

Scratch building an airvent?

Thank you for that info, the resin heats up also as it cures so the fridge it is. Good thing I live on my own & don't have to explain model bits in the fridge -
Scratch building an airvent?

& we have a winner, awesome, so simple yet so effective, just sand 5 ribs at each end a little to knock the height off then put maybe a piece of brass on each end to cap it off. Thank you NOBLING. OK, next question please, can I pour Zap Z-poxy PT-41 casting resin directly onto silly putty & take a mold off the pattern? -
Scratch building an airvent?

So many excellent ideas. Thank you all very much. Unfortunately measurements are not available at present. 3D printing would certainly be easier if I had the patience & know how. Brass is the way I have thought of, photo etch top on a block would also work but alias, no photo etch making skills. I have a friend who is able to cad design the instrument panels which I was going to glue to aluminium plate & cut & drill, add wood grain decal & Scale Production "O's" for instrument bezels. Need to get the instruments reduced to scale also. I have sent a email to Jan @ CTM this evening to see if he may now be interested in doing the instrument panels now that someone is doing a dash, we'll what happens, he may be able to do photo etch airvent faces. This is where I'm up to at present. & this is my entire model collection these days so there's not much to savage parts from. -
A teaser Got to get hold of my friend to cad the rest of the panels, they'll be glued to aluminium plate & cut & drilled. Just got a whole bunch of "O's" from scale productions to do the instrument bezels. Then it's a case of cutting up CTM's panels to get the need switches & such for the rest of the panels.

Scratch building an airvent?

I have one small problem with finding one from another kit, lack of other kits but thank you, excellent idea. -
As I've taken it upon myself to try to do a correct dash for the K100 Aerodyne, I'm stuck on the airvents, build one & cast from there seems to be the logical way to go but how to build a master so small, any & all ideas are greatly appreciated.

Any One Know Of A Source For Large Syringes?
Yahshu replied to oldcarfan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use 5ml syringes for mixing paint, I buy them in bulk from the local pharmacy (drug store), I get 100 in a box for about $25 AUD. I also use them for getting exact measurements for 2 part resins. -
Car kits with street motorcycles 1/24,25 scale

Franklin Mint done a few 1/24 Harley's years ago, they're still available & a bit pricey. https://www.ebay.com/b/Harley-Davidson-Franklin-Mint-1-24-Diecast-Toy-Vehicles/222/bn_83991349 -
The Otaki BFG's fit this kit, problem is, if you want to use the kit rims you are going to need some 1/2mm walled sleeves to stop the rim flopping around inside the tire. My machinist friend bet me I couldn't machine the sleeves, I won & it's not a job I'd like to attempt again any time soon. Or there's Chief Joseph @ Fireball Models

That is the plan, CharlieBravo & I are both doing a BJ & the Bear rig so both of us are in need also. As you can see from my pics, I had a friend do up the gauge clusters on cad, I just need to get the instrument panel done & now that I know there's nothing major on the front of the dash I can get it finished. Jan from CTM was asked if he could do up a set but he stated he wasn't prepared to do one as there would be a resin dash needed. Hey I'm doing a dash, hmmmmmm. I'll keep you posted.

What did you see on the road today?
Yahshu replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
390 Galaxie, right across the road from my home, the local hot rod shop. The truck, just around the corner at the other local hot rod shop. -
`70 Hurst Chrysler 300

The dash on the old AMT 60 falcon ute is an easy swap. -
So the stripping beings, decided just to gently scrape the paint off, seems to be working OK, a little labour intensive. This time around I'm going to fill all the panel lines. Will double up on the Revellion decal this time as the single one on now has got bleed through & lost it's "whiteness". I'm thinking about learning some new skills & building the frame out of brass. Guess we'll just have to wait & see what happens. Anywho, back to the stripping.
