  1. Should have mentioned that I do knock down the orange peal with varying grades of paper first. The mop polishing comes in for the liquid polish. For me it seems to work better at getting into the tight hard to reach spots I struggled with using a rag. Again, what I use for polishing is a string mop with 1/8 dia. shaft to fit my dremel not cloth. Check the tutorial in tips and tricks someone posted a link to Amazon showing exactly what I'm referring to.
  2. Don't want to step on any expert toes here, but there's a polishing tutoral in Tips and Tricks using a string polishing mop for a Dremel. I found the mops on Amazon and just tried it on some well cured enamal. At the slowest speed using Novus polish it worked great! I worked slow with a fairly light hand and kept moving. It didn't burn through. Definitly tape off the chuck once the mop is mounted to prevent nicking the paint! Also, be careful arround roof pillars and window vents. The mop wants to grab as it spins and pull arround these small features.
  3. Instead of watching a movie, sit at the bench instead. That's got to be at least a couple of hours. Unless this is wifey time! LOL! Mine prefers that I do bench time instead of staring at the "boob tube", it makes me more relaxed!
  4. We use lathe soft jaws all the time were I work. We make our own. With some careful measuring of existing set for the mounting holes and alignment slots you could probably do the same thing and save a few bucks in the process. A hundred bucks seems kinda steep! Just a suggestion.
  5. That would make a cool 1/24 scale dio!
  6. OK, I don't read Japanese. Does enyone know if that link mentions a release date?
  7. So what....did Testors stop making enamel paint or did this Freiburger guy use the wrong stuff?
  8. Don't do facebook. Thanks for the heads up though. I'll have the wife check it out for me she's all about the facebook!
  9. got some at Amazon too! Got to try this! Thanks for the tip!
  10. Maybe I'm late to the show but, is Scale Dreams gone? Web site shows it's disabled.
  11. Real men don't cry about pain! LOL!
  12. So....spray paint is like a can of soda. If you decant it you should let it go "flat" before using it right? Makes sense to me!
  13. Dawn dish washing liquid is designed to cut grease. It's also used to clean critters caught in oil spills! It's also been recommended somewhere else in this forum for removing mold release from plastic models.
  14. Anyone ever notice that in The Day The Earth Stood Still where the machines had stopped and they were showing cars stopped and trains stopped that there is one section where you can see a boat moving in the background on the river ? I'll give a pass on the continuity for this one. Quite possible the current was carrying it. lol!
  15. This is some great knowledge shared here! Never new about static and pinstripe painting before! To relieve the static and dust on my plastic models I use my old zerostat gun for cleaning vinyl record albums and a light blast of air. I also make sure to wipe down my booth and dampened with a spray bottle to keep dust down. Thanks for the info! Gonna mix up a batch of that alcohol and water to use from now on!

  17. I'd love to get a kit of this! Scoured eBay looking for one but the die cast ones are going for stupid money I don't want to spend!
  18. Pickup truck bed liner maybe?
  19. DAYTON Blower,273 cfm,115V,0.77A,1640 rpm Item # 1TDR3
  20. We've had a sleep by number bed for thirteen years and love it! The best thing about it is we can adjust the firmness depending on the need for comfort. I'll soften it a bit if my muscles and joints are sore from a long days work to get a good nights sleep and minimal pain in the morning. It's a flat matress with the corded controllers extended queen size that fits perfect in our bedroom and gives both of us enough room. The tricky thing is finding sheets. Not a common size but available on line. The sleep by number store carry them but can be a bit pricy! I highly recommend it and the wife and I agree worth every penny it cost!
  21. Geez! Why not just mash it in a car compactor! Who can get in one of those things much less drive it? Fun to look at though!
  22. Have you checked the price of a new video game lately! $$$$$!
  23. Went to Bob Evens for breakfast today and saw the Weiner Mobile at the hotel next door! Sorry for the upside down picture I can't seem to fix it!
