  1. Good job after such a long layoff. Let's see more.
  2. Make sure you only use a few drops. Most tips I've read that suggest Flow Aid only call for about 1 to 2 ml in a 100 ml mixture of thinner.

What a great job you did! That color combo works!
  4. Beautiful deep looking paint! Great job!
  5. I've got a 105 also. I've been shooting a lot of acrylics and Future. I use windshield washer cleaner to soak everything in. The only parts I don't soak are the air valve assembly, the needle tube/shank assembly and the back lever. Everything else goes in the cleaner. I use stronger window cleaner sprayed on a paper towel to wipe everything down after a good soak. Toothbrushes get the stubborn stuff out of the cup lid. I bought a set of airbrush cleaners that I use on the small orifices of the main body of the AB. Windshield washer fluid is a lot cheaper than thinner and more effective than plain water.
  6. Down draft booths are how the 1:1 booths are designed. Put your exhaust connection in the bottom. If that's not feasible, put it in the back. A false floor is a good idea as well. Here's what I've come up with. http://www.modelcars...showtopic=76088
  7. Here's what I built. As Drake69 said, be sure to use a BRUSHLESS MOTOR. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=76088
  8. Nice one! Looks like the one I had a little.
  9. Steve, I'll go ahead one more time and emphasize the fact that bathroom fans are not brushless. In order to have a nice explosion all you need is a combustible mixture and a spark source. You'll have a spark source if you use a bathroom exhaust fan. If you're only going to spray acrylic paint, you're fine. If you spray any lacquer or enamels, you may not be.
  10. Looks like the one that showed up at VIR to race in 2003. Looked like fun but I could lap him twice in 30 minutes of practice in my Bugeye.
  11. Steve, here's the link to my booth topic. It'll show you how I was able to match everything up. It's gone through several modifications since I first posted this. I've added lights everywhere and moved the filter location. The bilge blower, ducting and hook ups remain the same except that I don't use the board under the door as an exhaust any more. I put a vent into the door. The blower I have is adequate but I'd buy more capacity if I had it to do over. You can get 170 CFM blowers for about the same price that I paid for the 100 CFM on eBay. I can spray continuously for about 3 minutes before the cloud of spray is visible in the booth. After a couple of minutes, it's clear again. I still haven't decided whether to change it or not. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=76088
  12. Do a search on eBay for bilge blower. That's what I have on my booth.
  13. What do you use to filter your paint before you use it, be it for an AB or for brushing? Doesn't matter what type (enamel, lacquer, acrylic).
