Welcome to the forum, Bill. I've been using this recipe lately and really like it. Still working on getting the clear to work though. Fill 100 ml container with 2/3 distilled water, and 1/3 isopropyl alcohol. Add 2 ml of Liquitex Professional Flow-Aid Fluid Medium and 2 ml of Liquitex Professional Slow Dri Blending Medium.

Snake, what ratios do you use for the ingredients? How do you apply it and how do you remove it?

Pat, you do know that the Pledge Floor Care is an acrylic clear. It's won't strip paint.

Roger, it sounds like an issue with whatever was under the clear. The spoons I shot are rock hard.

I shot some spoons yesterday and got very good results. I'm shooting with a Badger Patriot 105 with 0.5 mm needle and tip. I set my pressure at about 14-16 psi. It almost seemed to be a little too thick. Still managed to get it to spray and loved the finish. Have any of you ever used MM gloss clear or any other acrylic clear? What about pressure, distance, multiple mist coats or heavier wet coats, etc.?

Several folks have mentioned unfinished models/projects. So far, I don't have much of a batting average either, mostly due to paint issues. I'm getting better though. What's your batting average.

I can't say this was my idea. I got it from Dr. Cranky here on the forum. I'm lucky enough to have a son that's a CNC machinist so I asked him to make what I'd call alignment blocks. They're made from stainless steel, measure 2"x2"x1/2" thick and weigh about a pound each. I use them to align wheels/tires.

Allen, I think I understand what you've built but some close up pics of the stand with a part being held would really be helpful. I'm always interested in stuff like this. I use some as well. Can't remember where I bought it though.

Sometimes the best solutions are the most obvious. Thanks for telling me what to do with that roll of Press and Seal above my work bench. The lacquer thinner tip is also another obvious solution. Thanks for pointing it out, Kevin.
