This is an MPC kit that I bought as part of a group of model kit and I was inspired to build it by Nacho Z's build of this kit. No engine shots as there is nothing to see there. Built box stock and the interior, chassis and engine compartment are inferior to most kits to say the least. The body was challenging but I think it came out OK. Mirrors were added from the parts box. Thanks for looking! ?

I bought this bagged kit as part of a larger purchase of 50 kits. Some were duplicates and a few had missing parts. To sweeten the deal the seller threw in about a dozen bagged kits that he said were complete but only about 6 of them were. This one was one that was complete. I was inspired by Nacho Z's WIP of this model so I decided the build it too. I worked on the body the better part of a day getting rid of all the flash on window openings and wheel openings, sanding out the cut-outs for the T-tops, re-scribing the window trim a bit, giving it a preliminary coat of primer and then adding all the additional parts. I painted the body with Tamiya Orange after a coat of flat white since the orange doesn't cover gray primer very well. One coat of Krylon Clear Lacquer. Here are some pictures: I am replacing the mirrors in this kit with some parts box mirrors that are tilted a bit so that they will mount correctly and I will pin these mirrors before mounting them.

Started this a while back hope to finish by the end of the month. Basically it is an out of the box build other than the Crager SS wheels. I decided to go with rally stripes and surprisingly being my first time painting them, I feel pretty good as to how they came out. I used Tamiya White primer as my base then Tamiya Bright White for the first top coat once that dried for a few days I masked off the stripes and sprayed Tamiya Bright Orange for my color coat. And last but not least once that set up, I shot it with a few coats of Testors Wet Coat Clear. After the paint is gassed out a bit I will polish and chrome what I need to. I did do some chrome prior to paint and polished the spots lightly. I also decided to chrome the edges of the fender gills just to break up the area a bit (still needs work). I hope to post more as I go along. if not, I will definetly post when finished.

Got this finished up the other day. Loved building it. And, it was my first time actually spraying the rally stripes. I have tried decals in the past with major failures. I used Dupli-Color for the first primer coat to see and body work that was needed. after wet sanding and drying I shot it with Tamiya primer followed with Tamiya's Bright White. After sitting for a few days I masked off and shot the Tamiya Bright Orange color coat followed by Testors Wet Look Clear. I built it pretty much out of the box with the exception of the wheels. I wanted to go with a more period look. Anyway, enough babbling...

Anyone know a good model spray paint to use for Harley Orange? I know it has a reddish tint to the orange and not as bright.
