When they redid the Ala Kart there was some controversy over the size of the new engine, many saying it was too small. This was sorted out some what by looking at the variations of the early Hemi. When the Slingster kit came out, noted on the box as 1/25th scale this looked very small to me, if not tiny. I'm sure in part to my love of the original Slizzer kit from which it was derived. The later kit being of questionable scale, something to do with early Monogram offerings or maybe the "Box Scale" syndrome. My question is, has anyone measured out the newer Slingster kit?

http://sgrallying.blogspot.com/2013/05/jrs-dragster-one-bad-hombre.html First thing I thought when I saw these pictures was Slingster, either use the paint scheme on the Bantam body or get really ambitious and cut and paste a '32 Ford Vicky body and make your own. I know that I have at least one old Small Pages article on how to cut up a Bantam Sedan up to make something similar to te Slingster body, it would be a whole lot of cutting to do though. When I saw the new Slingster for the first time I thought Fuel Coupe in all sorts of variations. This just reinforces that idea.

Here's my take on the new Slingster. I used the single hoop rollbar, which allowed me to channel the body about 4" in scale after opening up the wheel arches. It runs a small block Chevy and has AMT slicks & '33 Willys rear wheels. It's off to the paint booth for primer now...
