Hi very nice so far. We've seen quite a few of these in the UK, very quick on our twisty roads.

I was at the launch of the race version at Silverstone on the 22nd March 1994.

And it was a winner the first time out!

Thanks Kennyboy and twokidsnosleep and Bennyg,Thanks also PatW for the pic of the taillight area!

Ok,small update for today,I redid the interior floor with a mixture of light gray/dark gray flocking using Ken's Kustom fuzzi fur.

I also have a few pics with the console attached and the door panels mocked for test fitting, which is the usual Tamiya fit :),i was able to put on my final pearl coat on the Volvo a couple days ago,so while it's drying i will start on the few parts left to paint.

one of the finest interiors i ever saw on a kit. realy nice molded.

if i'm right, there is a carpet in the instruction to cover all the ups and downs on the floor. isn't it? in my mind as i built mine, i think, i put it in...and did the flocking afterwards.

You're correct Dominik, but the carpet is a tan color and since I went with a grey color it just wouldn't match,i'll save the carpet for another project.I should've covered the ups and downs on the floor, but the interior put together hides most of it. :)

I have one of these. I got a really good deal on it a few years back and jumped on it.

I'm planning on the dark blue per the Tamiya instructions with a tan interior.

I'm thinking about building a carriage house setting similar to what you'd see in some of the nicer suburbs of Boston for it with some nice pre-war Euro-brougham and perhaps one of Tamiya's M-B 4-doors, if I can scare one up.

Seems like a very fitting combination of product.

Great job on this.

Hmmm....Curtis, i thought, the carpet was grey.

the one i built has a gray interior like yours. can't remember, that i used another "thing" for it. i really must take a look on mine...

Okay, back with a small update finally masked the body to paint the trim, and that's were the fun started, the bmf I used had lost it's stickiness,so it lifted in about 90% of the car so grabbed a other sheet and same result!,so tried with another sheet same deal!.Finally found a sheet that worked, painted the trim and went to remove the masking and the masking took off some of the paint!,I think it's very fixable, but I'm just not feeling the grey trim on the body,so debating repainting it in black, even though I saw a 1:1 yesterday with grey trim.Anyone else have a thought or opinion on the trim?

Wow too bad about eurolovly Volvo.just kidding now you can build up some krazy Kars and use up some of your FRESH bmf or maybe someday you can have us come up and drive your superbadwagons on a proper track.and have a thrill or 10 "

Paint is my Achilles heel as well. I think black trim is suitable. My mate has one of these. I'm pretty sure his has black trim.

Black or grey will work. When i mask just for trim on a painted surface i stick the Tamiya masking tape on my shirt once to lose some of stick because around molding is famous about pulling paint off..

That is a good tip...just watch out for fuzzies lifting off your clothes or in my case dog fur

Use a clean surface to lessen the tackyness of the tape such as a tile or piece of glass that is clean and dry of course.

The grey trim is usually semi-gloss black that faded. Most of these cars, as I remember, had black trim from the factory.

Good luck with the paint.

Ok,I'm back with a small update, the front+ rear glass is finished,i repainted the body as well, but it fell off the paintstand onto the ground and more chips and debris got into the paint!.So I stripped the body, hope to have it back in primer this week, work has slowed things down a bit.
