There has been talk for some time that Galaxie was going to do one.

hrwcarshowpics07016.jpgTommys_Chevy_Collage_copy.jpg and just so you don't think my friend Tommy's car is a week end cruiser. Tommys40Wheelie.jpg 540 Big Block Chevy, powerglide, 4:30 gears and a 9:74 @ 130 MPH in the quarter. :P

All it would take to do a kit of the '41 Chevy from Galaxie would be the front clip, a dash, and the chrome parts tree! The '46-48 Chevies were merely warmed over 1941-1942 cars!

What Art said.....look at the front doors of the Galaxie kits....during assembly this area is covered by the extended front fenders of the '46-48 design...but underneath....you'll see the '41 Chevy sheet metal////err////styrene, fully intact on Galaxie's body casting! Now that the '46-'48 is to be available as a five window coupe (the previous kit had the aero sedan bodystyle that wasn't available in the '41 IIRC), now all this needs is what Art mentions above.

The '41 Chevy is my personal favorite among all the pre-war Chevies, and I would really enjoy being able to build a 1/25th scale of that car (probably as a nicely kitbashed 1970's style retro-rod...).

I love that this guy is calling this pre-painted, screw together die cast a "pro-built" model! Especially with the poorly mounted front bumper.:D:rolleyes:

But seriosuly folks, it's not a bad shelf model, I bought one to decorate my cubicle at work. Except for the muscle car style wheels and tires, that do nothing for the model, it's pretty nice. On the other hand, those wheels and tires would look awesome on any 1/24 scale muscle car.

I'd love a 40/41 Chevy. Chevys are my favorites of this era.

Hi guys,

I looked at the Ebay link. What kind of kits are these? I don't know them.

PS: Cool model, and the pics from Greg are nice. I like it.

Thanks for the info.

Are the bodies good? I'd like to know if they have potential if they were bashed a bit. Good platform for something a little more detailed?

Good, nice shinny paint, but still, diecast, big chunky hinges etc. ^_^ I've built the Tee Bucket and the Duece Highboy. Both as nice as any plastic kit, with a few building options,

I would prefer a '40 to a '41 coupe, but either would be welcome!

They look pretty cool as customs, bombs, gassers, or hot rods. I like this chopped and sectioned '40...kind of squat, but it looks tough!
