Davewilly Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 great work so far! If you add that starter solenoid on the fender well that will add some clutter to the engine bay along with the heater hoses.. How is the kit for assembly?
misterNNL Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Your color choices for weathering the under hood details is excellent.they add a lot of realism to the project. Thanks for sharing your work with us.Great work!
artecar24 Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 Starter solenoid on the fender and more details. This part is finished!
artecar24 Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 (edited) Test set. It seems that fits seamlessly for now: Edited July 13, 2015 by artecar24
rsxse240 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 If you're sticking with those wheels, you may wanna go quite a bit lower. I love everything else though. The engine is very well done!
artecar24 Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 More progress. Body only with one paint layer (using orange Tamiya paint as primer). Idea: a General Lee version. I need help. I need a Confederate flag decal to the roof. Could anyone help me?
crazyrichard Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 nice details ! i love it .. not sold on those rims though .. its a taste thing but ... would look killer with rims a tad smaller and maybe even a slight dish > staggered , wider at the back
Davewilly Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Looks good your doing some nice detail work on it...Keep it up!
espo Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Great looking build, the level of paint detailing is exceptional. I also think it would look better with wheels in the 15 inch to no more than 17 inch diameter would look more realistic. Remember the original Ranchero had 13 & 14 inch wheels. As for the Confederate Flag thing, that has become even more controversial than ever in the last year. Revell is even leaving it out of the reissues right now. Everyone has an opinion on this part of American history and I imagine you probably are not aware off all this. Let's just say it's not Politically Correct here right now. I'm sure someone here could help you with the flag decal if you want to do that.
artecar24 Posted January 27, 2016 Author Posted January 27, 2016 thanks for alert @espo, but I only want to recreate the Dodge Charger "General Lee". I know that the Confederate flag means, but it has nothing to do with its meaning. (sorry for my english!) On the other hand, I understand about "politically Correct". Europe and Spain are victims of the "Political Correct". For me, the "correct" is not being afraid, be honest, to help others, to respect, to share... Good people do not need to be "politically correct". OMG, sorry for my bad english!!!! thanks @espo
espo Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Artecar24, You are correct about this whole Politically Correct thing, just didn't know if you were aware of what was going on here. Your build looks fantastic. What interior are you going to use ?
artecar24 Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 hi @espo, sorry for my "rollo" (a spanish word what means, more or less, "verbiage"). Interior is improvised. Interior in black gray. Interior doors in matte orange with lights to dry brush. "Modern" seats from a japanese diecast (upload photo). @ZeroClearance, thanks for words!
mustang1989 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Engine detail looks good! I like the wash on the air cleaner to bring out the detail of the filter element. I also like the upgrades to the suspension. Nice touch with the shocks and springs.Trumpeter kits tend to have some weird issues. Mister I couldn't have worded that better myself. Over engineered....................a lot!! Ten parts to build something that normally would only require around 2 or 3 maybe.
artecar24 Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 @mustang1989, thanks for comment! True, this kit is... rare. Some parts are great and some are horrible!

Ten parts to build something that normally would only require around 2 or 3 maybe. And odd shapes for things that are pretty standard. Still don't know what they patterned the engine for the Monte Carlo after, but it sure wasn't a small block Chevy.
artecar24 Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 More progress... I'm already in the finish line!
Luis Ayala Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Fantistic Job Angel !!!The details on the engine, the dashboard and the roof liner look fantastic!!!!May I ask what material you used foe the floor mats?Excelente trabajo!!! Se ve espectacular!!!
Balsa Manufaktur Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Looks very interesting until now!! Good luck!
Crazy Ed Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I do like that Dashboard detailing - All the way down to the Ignition Key!
