Pokey Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 (edited) This started out as the old Monogram '86 Monte Carlo SS kit. To convert it to an LS, I shaved the rear spoiler, and the chin-spoiler sections on the front fenders off. I also shaved the door handles. I added the taillights and rear bumper from the '87 Monte Carlo AeroCoupe, and a resin LS front clip from ScaleLows.com . The sunroof is from the Revell Custom Caddy Lowrider kit, and the exhaust tips are scratchbuilt from aluminum tubing. The color is Tamiya Mica Red over white primer. For the interior, I removed the center console, and added a modified bench seat from the Revell Caprice Police Car. I made a column shifter from a pin with a white ball on the end. The steering wheels is from my parts-box. Hope you guys like it! Edited March 3, 2008 by Pokey
Robyn Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 That is very cool. I have the same kit and resin header panel to build my first car. Now I need to decide whether to build it the way it was or the way I wanted it to end up. Very cool build, Robyn
Pokey Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 (edited) Thanks Robyn! I was kind of disappointed with how the paint came out. I thought it was going to be darker than that, like a burgundy. I should have used grey primer, but oh well, you live, you learn, you keep building. Edited March 4, 2008 by Pokey
RodneyBad Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Looks great! Love the detail on the interior...really nice! Color goes well with it. I'd think if it was a lil darker, it wouldn't stand out as much. Sweet job.. I like the cruize in pics
