I am not Sure how accurate this is but it looks good enough for me and thought I'd share it

You may have the parts backwards.....I think the backing plate should be on the other side of the "drum"  with the flange against the backing plate.

Good idea though....if it's not glued try moving the parts around and see what you think.

Try turning the brake "drum" over.  Your pic of the real thing shows what I mean..the "small end" goes inside the wheel. Maybe file the flange to match the fins on the backing plate side of the drums like in the pic?  

 Not a big deal, just my impression.

The backing plate goes on the other side of the brake drum (on real cars).

Of course, you may assemble it any way you wish.   ;)
