Just got the kit today. Should be nailing down some of the problems in it tonight.

Miles, the 2 worst issues of this kit are that both hoods need to be shimmed up on both edges to align for fit,,,as they are undersized a bit.....and next, you have probably noticed the loose fit....if any fit at all,,side to side on the chassis to body.....the sides of the floorpan/ chassis need to have plastic stock sized and added to ensure proper fit.....hope that gets you started......the Ace.......:D

I thought that hood thing was just my kit. thanks for the heads up Ace.:D

....no problem, Kevin.....you will find once the front clip/ grille section is installed between the fenders....they will spread a bit, making the hood fit sloppy as mentioned above. one other note, for all interested----the headers in this kit are average,,at best,,,sooo my point here is, that the hang, or drop, on them, is very low. that was done to hook up those sidepipes in the kit.....make a plastic piece for your trans support, as to lift it up the tail shaft as much as you can....it won't mess up your engine fit, or trans to firewall relief,,,but it will raise the headers enough on your final build so they won't drag on the pavement......the Ace....:)

Quick question. We can use other wheel/ tire combo's but how about attachment methods for different wheels? I can make the kit supplied axles work, but I have to slice-n-dice the kit supplied rims.

its certainly ok to use other backing plates or axle bosses  in using other rims......otherwise it is difficult using whats  supplied in kit,,,,so, go ahead,,,the Ace....:D

ALSO, MOUNTING OTHER WHEELS THEN PRESENTS THE DILEMA OF POSSIBLY JUST HOW THEN TO MOUNT THEM. FEEL FREE TO USE ANY BACKING PLATES OR AXEL BOSSES THAT SUIT YOU,,,BUT NO AFTERMARKET OR DONOR KIT DRILLED DISC BRAKE SETUPS OR SUCH......JUST WANTED TO CLARIFY FOR ALL.....THE ACE.....;).......--------GENTS, THOUGHT THIS MAY BE HELPFUL AS WELL. OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS MUCH INFO ON THE FORUM HAS  BEEN DISCUSSED ABOUT SEVERAL AREAS OF THE 75-76 GREMLIN KITS IN GENERAL----HERE ARE SOME AREAS THAT MAY BE A CONCERN TO ALL...YOUR FRONT CLIP ON BOTH 75 AND 76 WILL SLIGHTLY WIDEN THE FENDERS APART , CAUSING EITHER THE STOCK OR SCOOPED HOODS TO FIT POORLY....ITS EASILY FIXED BY ADDING SOME STRIPS TO THE HOOD SIDES AND THEN SANDING THEM TO SHAPE....NEXT, THE CHASSIS TO INTERIOR TO BODY FIT IS POOR, WHERE SOME PLASTIC STRIP STOCK WILL NICELY SNUG THAT FIT FOR YOU.....IT HAS BEEN NOTED IN READING INFO EVEN OFF THIS FORUM THAT SOME BUILDERS HAVE HAD TROUBLE MOUNTING THE GLASS FROM INSIDE, SOME SAYING IT CAN THROW OFF YOUR INTERIOR FIT,,,,I HAVE TAPED ONE TOGETHER BACK A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, AND IT SEEMS FINE, BUT ON FINAL ASSEMBLY  THINGS CAN HAPPEN, AS WE ALL KNOW....IF YOU USE THE DRAG TUNNEL RAM 2X4 INTAKE MANIFOLD, NOTE THAT BOTH ENDS HAVE LARGE SINK HOLES, EASILY FIXED, BUT LEFT ALONE WILL BE QUITE A DISAPPOINTMENT....AND MY FINAL  COMMENT IS REGARDING  THE CARBS,,,YOU GET 3 HERE....ONE IS A 2 BARREL FOR STOCK ONLY, THE OTHER TWO ARE SMALL 4 BARRELS ,  USING ONE FOR SINGLE CARB 4 BARREL INTAKE, OR BOTH FOR THE TUNNEL RAM. IN THE PAST I HAVE SEEN THEM MIXED UP ON VARIOUS BUILDS, SO CHECK CAREFULLY THAT YOU ARE SELECTING THE RIGHT SET UP FOR YOUR ENGINE,,,NOTHING WORSE LATER THAN REALIZING THAT THE INCORRECT COMBO WAS GLUED IN PLACE, AS IT DOES HAPPEN,,,,,,LONG WINDED, HERE, BUT I HOPE THIS HELPS EVEN SOME OF YOU.....THANKS FOR READING THIS...THE ACE...:D

The carb issue is fun, as the 2 and one 4 are are together on the sprue, and the other 4 is on another.

.......so true, and that's why it can be a bit confusing for some...in the past I have actually seen builds using the drag tunnel ram with one 4 barrel, and the 2 barrel mated with it....:o...the Ace...........

I made a start on mine today. I've decided to use the optional quarter window panels to turn it into a sedan delivery. :)  I'll probably do some panel line scribing on the rear panel to extend the tailgate down to taillight level.

I'll be using the single 4 barrel carb with the headers and side pipes.

I finally found the perfect shade of 70's green for my build.:P This thing is gonna SCREAM 70's.... lol:D 

COOL...!  You already know how I want to build mine when I can Kevin...:)...my uncles old car but its the earlier body.

I think those older body styles of Gremlin looked better because they didn't have those huge billboard bumpers.

man do I agree with that one...problem is finding the parts to convert mine into the earlier one...think there was a funny car version once that was close.  Nice work and ideas guys.
