Hubert Rollins Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Enjoyed building this one!! Painted her up slick, slammed some powerslides on, scratch-built several parts, and here she is!! My first NASCAR build in about 17 years. I can promise you this, as much fun as I had on this one it won't take me that long to build another!! More detailed info on the build on the NASCAR forum if you're interested.
kalbert Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 That looks really great. I'm a big Underbird fan and have always wanted to it. How did you make the window net?
Hubert Rollins Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 That looks really great. I'm a big Underbird fan and have always wanted to it. How did you make the window net?I have a template from a window net kit I ordered from Detail Master years ago. I don't know if such a thing is available still or not. The window net is just paper though, cut using the template and glued together with Elmers School Glue. I brush painted it with flat black acrylic, mounted it on two wire rods and glued it to the rollcage.
kalbert Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 It looks pretty good for being painted paper! Very convincing, thanks for the explanation.
Belugawrx Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 That came out great DerickAll the extra detail really makes it.Cheers

1930fordpickup Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Looks great. Top to bottom. Sure miss this guy in NASCAR. The last private owner one car team to win it all.
Silver Foxx Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 This is a great looking build , lots of nice detail work , I built this version as well because it is a nice looking car .
snacktruck67 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 A very nice build. At least someone can do the tires and window net up right. That is the same way Mach2 taught me. Great stuff.
