Bennyg Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Hi fellas. Here is a beetle I completed. A fair bit of body work done including tail lights. Used pieces from 2 revell VW kits. Paint is Holden metallic purple. Wheels are from aoshima.
Foxer Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I really want to see what you did on this as I'm in the process of building a '69 that I owned. Are you posting photos from a free photo site such as photobucket.com ? That is the best and easiest way.
Bennyg Posted September 7, 2015 Author Posted September 7, 2015 I'll have to some how get the photos into photo bucket from my iPad. Ben
rmvw guy Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) I have a '69 Beetle, is that it? Do you want to see one? This is directly from my iPad and probably very limited how many times you could do this. I would recommend using photobucket or some other photo host. Edited September 7, 2015 by rmvw guy

Bennyg Posted September 7, 2015 Author Posted September 7, 2015 RMVW Guy, yours looks pretty similar to the revell 1970 convertible VW. I used the convertible and 1968 combined to make mine. Ben
rmvw guy Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Nice! Is that from your iPad or did you figure out how to use a host? I haven't done that yet, new to iPad myself. Nice model though, which kit did you use?
Bennyg Posted September 7, 2015 Author Posted September 7, 2015 I'm gathering it worked. I can see the pics. I'm technologically challenged. Ben
Atmobil Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Looks very nice, you have done the same thing that I have plans on doing by combining the 68 1200 sedan and the 70 1500 cabriolet. How did you do the conversion job?
Bennyg Posted September 7, 2015 Author Posted September 7, 2015 I filled in the front air vents, and used the bumpers, tail lights and front seats seats from cabrielet. A lot of sanding and body work to get the lights right. I also got rid of the chrome trim. Pics are from my iPad. Ben
PatW Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) Superb Ben, great colours and in the sun! Sorry we don't see much sun in the UK. Edited September 20, 2015 by PatW
Foxer Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 That came out looking wonderful! I've been eyeing the same process you did to get a '69, but just wish Revell had cast the tail lights separate from the fenders. I just hate to ruin that beautiful body just to rob the taillights.
