russosborne Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Preferably in a spray can, not set up right now to use my airbrush. And it needs to be something a local store should have. Lack of planning on my part, need to do this before the end of the month. I seem to remember there being something years ago, but not sure if anything is around now. Close would be good enough. Plain brown is just too plain. But that is my backup choice. But I am open to other ideas in the brown family. Thanks, Russ
LDO Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 You bet. Testors makes a Root Beer pearl lacquer in their "One Coat" line of sprays.
russosborne Posted September 24, 2015 Author Posted September 24, 2015 Great, Thanks! That was one I thought of, didn't know it was still around.Russ
restoman Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Model Master has a Manganese that is close to Root Beer. I was going to use it on a '71 Charger R/T, but went with a nail polish colour instead.
Nacho Z Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 This was shot with Testors 1848M Rootbeer One Shot Laquer.
Snake45 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Very pretty! Would that paint be too "flaky" to use on an early/mid '60s 29A--not a high-buck showcar, just a homebuilt driver?

I think the lights used when photographing this make it a little more sparkly than it would appear to the naked eye. But for what you described, I would think it is too much.
JollySipper Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 This is Cordova Brown from DupliColor.......... It's a real nice color....!

Obviously you understand exactly what I'm getting at with this question. There are a lot of really nice colors in that line that are too flaky/sparkly for anything but a full custom car--or a bass boat.
