oldcarfan Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here goes. I would really like a few sets of stock wire wheels and tires of the type that comes in AMT's and Revell's Model A Woodie kits. I have searched but can't come up with any other than buying complete kits. Does anyone make such a thing or would it be cheaper to just buy a full kit? Any ideas would be welcome!
Art Anderson Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 About the only way to get stock Model A Ford wheels would be in one of the available model kits. Wire wheels such as those just do not lend themselves to say, resin-casting, not to mention that the bulk of modelers would rather hotrod a Model A Ford kit.Art

Greg Myers Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 This thread should do it for you. I'll bet there's a bunch of board members that have built that kit and hot rodded the heck out of it not using the stock wheels. Come everybody let's help Gary out.
oldcarfan Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the interest. I like to build two models at the same time. I built two of the Revell 29 A Pickup closed tops as stock and hot rod variants. Now I want to do the open top in the same way. Edited September 26, 2015 by oldcarfan Added pictures
oldcarfan Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 For what it is worth, I also did the 1934 Ford pickups the same way.
alan barton Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Gary, I can help here as I have heaps of both AMT 29, Revell 30 and Monogram 1/24th 30 wheels(and tyres) if we can work out something with postage from Australia I can send some your way.CheersAlan

I would, but...well, I build stock, too! Gary- nice work on that maroon pickup. Charlie Larkin
Art Anderson Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 The best, most accurately done Model A Ford wire wheels in 1/25 scale were done by Revell, bar none.Art
oldcarfan Posted October 1, 2015 Author Posted October 1, 2015 Thanks for all the comments. I can see how these would be hard to copy in resin! Alan if you PM me an address, I would be happy to send a money order for whatever the expense would be.
