peekay Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) Just finished this simple Johan kit. It's really just an unassembled promo in kit form but, being Johan, it represents its subject well. I used Gravity Paints Aston Martin Almond Green, topped with Tamiya TS13 clear, fine sanded and polished as usual. There are a couple of minor glitches in the paint but, thanks to my inability to take an in-focus photo, they don't show. The vinyl roof was done with Zero semi-gloss black, which went on very fuzzy, burying my foiled scripts for good. The answer was scripts and badges from Global Toy in China - very nice decals, though the badges are actually for later cars. The interior green is an airbrushed Zero mix, the wood done with Humbrol enamel. The mirrors come from the parts box. peekay Posted October 12, 2015 Author Posted October 12, 2015 I forgot to mention the Modelhaus tyres.
Can-Con Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Very nice. These were the cars I remember seeing in my teen years. ,, Just about how I remember them.
wayne swayze Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Beautifully done, as usual Peter! Love the colour!
59-Desoto Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Man that's as sweet as they come , STUNNING !!!!!!!!!!!
bbowser Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 That's a beauty! Add a little black wash to the wire wheels and you couldn't tell if it was a 1:1.
RandyB. Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Gorgeous looking Cadillac Peter. Looks very realistic. Great colour scheme as well!
Crusader101 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Beautiful build and excellent tire choice!May I ask which Modelhaus tires you used?
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) I keep expecting to see Robert DeNiro step out of this one in a blue leisure suit! (That's a thinly veiled reference to the movie "Casino" by the way) I seem to remember Ray Liotta driving a copper colored Caddy exactly like this one in "Goodfellas". Seems to be a recurring theme here. Great car for a gangster!! Oh, & let's not forget the wedding present to Johnny Roastbeef & his wife Bunny! I guess if you have to get "wacked" a Cadillac is as good a place as any! Both '79s by the way. Steve Edited October 13, 2015 by StevenGuthmiller
