ChrisBcritter Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Who makes the fine-tooth rotary saw blade that fits a 1/8" Dremel screw-on shaft? Like the thickness of a razor saw blade. I used to have a couple but haven't seen any lately in the Dremel accessories.
peteski Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Something like this?http://www.micromark.com/6-piece-high-speed-steel-saw-blade-set-with-mandrel,11549.htmlorhttps://www.walthers.com/exec/search?category=Tool&scale=&manu=gyros&item=&keywords=saw+blade&words=restrict&instock=Q&split=30&Submit=Search
ChrisBcritter Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 That Micromark set should work nicely (a set of blades and a mandrel for what Walthers wants for one blade!).Thanks!
Brett Barrow Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Gyros Tools is who you're looking for http://www.gyrostools.com/ Dremel quit making them years ago. Edited October 28, 2015 by Brett Barrow
crazyjim Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I picked up a couple of the Dremel blades years and years ago at a flea market. Wish I would have bought more. I don't know how mnay teeth are on the blade but would be interested in hearing if the Micromark blade works well.
JTalmage Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I found something at home depot once. I cant remember a brand name but it is a nice kit.
TooOld Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) I've got the Micromark set and except for the 60 tooth blade they are all way too coarse plastic , they also are .030" thick which is more than what the old Dremel saw blades were so I rarely use even the 60 tooth blade . I purchased some of the Gyrostools and the Ultra fine is .005"thk x 120 teeth . But the Fine tooth blade works the best , .015"thk x 80 teeth .To be honest , unless you need a precise cut the Dremel cut-off wheels work better . Edited October 28, 2015 by TooOld
ChrisBcritter Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 Ultra fine sounds like just the ticket - thanks! The precise cuts are exactly why I need 'em - they'll save me some time and effort for the long cuts on all these cars I'm Frankensteining together from damaged bodies (latest is a '58 Ford convertible that is now a hardtop).
