andy12646 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) What spray adhesive would you recommend for applying aluminum foil to a model? Also, if I screw up in the application, what would you recommend for cleaning the part (model) before starting the process over? I'm trying to learn this technique and it seems not difficult if your VERY careful and the RIGHT materials are used. Any input would be greatly appreciated and respected. Thanks for all your replies! Chillyb1 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 My best advice is to use the self-adhesive Bare Metal Foil brand and skip trying to master the application of foil with whatever other adhesive. But if you must, I'd recommend Alene's spray adhesive, which is widely available at hobby, craft, and general big-box stores near everybody.

Especially if you're new to the process.BMF will be a much better "spring board" than just jumping into the "deep end" of using kitchen foil. You can always move on to that later if you feel the need. Snake45 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Forget any spray adhesive. Get some Microscale Metal Foil Adhesive. Wonderful stuff and worth the cost and effort to find!

Frankly, while I use BMF Foil Adhesive, it's really nothing more than thinned Tacky White Glue, which is available in craft stores under a variety of brands.Art
