disabled modeler Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 I always liked that truck...cool. I have a few planed to build of others myself but are only in the parts gathering stages so far.
gatorincebu Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 That is cool. I like those type of utility bodies. i have a couple from Spaulding's to put on some pick em ups. Be Well Gator
rsxse240 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Squad 51! Heck yes! I used to watch that every day right after the Andy Griffith show or maybe it was after Starskey & Hutch, or Rockford files, I don't know I watched them all!
kilrathy10 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Cool subject....Can't wait to see it done....Great idea....
426-Hemi Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I'm lookin for a cheap (moneys tight) utility bed, so can you explain the "Bed from 3 Inches Under." comment? I want to seek something like this, out for a pretty close the same truck type build in the future!
62pyro Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Looks like he's talking about an Ebay seller. http://stores.ebay.com/3-inches-under
Jim B Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Looking nice, Dave. How is the quality on the bed from 3" Under? I've heard mixed reviews, mostly not good.
towman1271 Posted November 15, 2015 Author Posted November 15, 2015 The bed is from ebay.. To answer your question jim.. Its gonna need some work to make it right, but its the best I can find for the build !
towman1271 Posted July 24, 2016 Author Posted July 24, 2016 Been a while since I have had the desire to work on this.. After putting my oldest dog down shortly after this post in Oct. we lost our other dog in Jan. Amazing how animals affect your life so much! But other than commenting on some always amazing builds of others, just didn't have the excitement to build.. Decided it was time to start working again this weekend. Got quite a bit accomplished since then. Got in my grill from Modelhaus (which is what started the itch again). Used slam locks from Don Mills. The biggest part of the build is done. Just have to start adding all the little extras!
Maindrian Pace Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 "Squad 51, KMG365."Sorry to hear of the doggies, I've had to do that, and it's horrible. But then a new one comes along, seemingly at just the right time, and things get better.
dustym Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 That's funny, I am watching that show right now.
426-Hemi Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 NICE!!!! I'd love to locate a grill like the one in that Dodge just to mold it! (ALL the possibilities it open up for the Little Red Express Trucks!)That Utility bed, turned out GREAT!!!! NICE Work on it! Is it a full 8 scale feet long or is it look bigger because of the picture? I'm asking as I have a truck planned to use a utility bed, I just have to plan out what I will do for the frame to get it right....NICE Work tho!

I would have to measure it to see if its a true 8ft. It needed a lot of clean up to make it look decent. I snagged the grill from Modelhaus. Its a shame they are shutting down! Thanks for the nice comments
426-Hemi Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 So the bed is 3 inches long? With thaqt its more a 6 foot bed then an 8, 8 scale feet in 1/25th is almost 4 inches! As for the grille yeah that does suck for us that Modelhaus is gone.... They officially closed for all the orders they got when they made that announcement so..... I myself, do my own molding in resin so. I can't do "large" items bodies and hoods, but engines tranmissions and grilles maybe even bumpers, I can do.... BUT nothing like Modehaus did! Thanks for the info on the resin utility bed, I may have to sit down and scratchbuild one! -That ought to be a fun task! LOL
Jim B Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 The eBay store is called "3 Inches Under". Here's the link:http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-25-scale-model-resin-Emergency-paramedic-Squad-51-conversion-kit-/182115513541?hash=item2a66ee34c5:g:SrsAAOSw~gRVrGXtHe does a lot of 1/25 scale mortuary stuff, hence the title.
426-Hemi Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Thanks for posting that link, I'll have to look into that one!
