YBlock292 Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 I decided to build the Revell Starsky & Hutch kit not as the famous "striped tomato". Color is "Orange metallic" (Tamiya) which comes close to the original "Bronze metallic" that was available for 1975 Gran Torinos and was - as I recall - a popular color with 1970s cars.
Ridge Rider Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 That is a beauty. I think it looks much better than the S&H.
FordRodnKustom Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Sharp. Good color combo for that car. Nice job!
drsnapper55 Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Wow, this definitely caught my eye. Excellent, and I really like the window tint. How did you achieve that and any tips for prospective builders of this kit?

Mike 1017 Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Great color combo. At what point in your build did you apply the BMF?
Nacho Z Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Oh yeah, I like everything about this one! Great job.
Cardz Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Wow, that looks awesome! Color, finish, stance, tires and the pictures really show it off. well done!
YBlock292 Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 Thank You very much guys!@drsnapper55: I always use Tamiya's "Clear Blue" fot the windshield-stripe. I don't mask the "glass" to have the color fading towards the lower section of the windshield. You should exercise this procedure on some clear parts You don't need anymore before starting off with the only windshield You have in Your actual model-kit.@Mike 1017: The body received three coats of Tamiya's "Orange metallic" and two rounds of car wax to get a good shine (I did not use a clear coat). After that I applied the BMF (new improved chrome).Ludwig
Chuck Mols Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Looks great! The color choice is amazing, made a big difference in this car.
Reeves Racing Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Wow that looks terrific. Nice work shading the windshield.
oldcarfan Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Nice work. You've got me thinking that I need one in silver with the maroon vinyl half-top and maroon velour upholstery!
bogger44 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 That is downright beautiful. What a great color choice and terrific build.
Greg Pugh Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 So awesome! I've been in a 70's mood here lately.
my80malibu Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Very nice work. Overall I think the car could use a little lowering. I haven't had an opportunity to get on of these yet, hopefully soon though.
