Looks great so far.

I would suggest a light wash of The Detailer brown or very heavily-thinned brown paint (like 5:1 thinner/paint) to help bring that a bit closer to the walnut pattern Chrysler tended to use.

It looks real good for what your working

on right right now.

Some kits are hard to get the woodgrain

on to look right, but that's a very darn good

start at it there!

Matt, how did you do that? I'm gonna be starting a '70 GTX soon and would love to add that detail. I think it looks kick ass.

I used testors gloss wood! Once dried.. then the testors float brown with a realy fine brush adding streaks and then testors rust with some more streaks to immitate wood grains

How did u make that wood grain on the interior, just painting it?

I used testors gloss wood paint and once it dried I used flat brown and flat rust in small little strokes

One tip  can give on painting wood grain is to put a piece of tape on either end.  Then as you brush the grain, paint past the end of the part and onto the tape. Then remove the tape. That gives you the pattern right up to the edge.

I have a PDF of a wood graining tutorial done by Irv Arter many years ago.  Anyone who PMs me their email address, I'd be happy to send it along.
