John Teresi Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) Hello .........this 1/16: Barry Setzer "Monocoque" Dragster is on the Workbench.........I bought a Shapeways TDR 3D printed Halibrand Quick Change Rear end and some mags for reference off Ebay........thank you from a " little Help From My Friends": ............... Chris Sobak AKA "Mooneyes" : for selling me a 1/16 Revell Don Garlits kit for the donor Mike Garland: for donating the wheel pants and Enderle Injection and Scoop and some really cool reference pics Tom Neu: for selling me the Slixx Barry Setzer out of production decals Dale Epp from Canada: for the killer reference pics Micro Nitro for some really cool Halibrand rear wheels and John Hilkert AKA "Fuelish Spectator": for some killer reference pics too ......."Fuelish" has been working on a 1/16 Barry Setzer 'Monocoque" Dragster for the last 10 years but,he is making the build that would be current to todays specs. So,John gave me his blessing to make my own which will be a replica of the 1:1 Dragster......I built a 1/24 scale Barry Setzer "Monocoque" Dragster about 7 years ago......but,I would like to really give it all the bells and whistles this time around. Here are a few pics of the 1/24 scale build I built 7 years ago.......like I said the new 1/16 Scale version will look way better.......thanks for looking Edited December 6, 2015 by John Teresi
bobthehobbyguy Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Cool project. One of my favorite dragsters. Looking forward to this one.
RAT-T Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 GREAT BUILD JOHN, LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ONE. I DIDN'T KNOW SLIXX MADE DECALS FOR THIS IN 1/16
Codi Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Great great choice John. Who doesn't like that car (rhetorical of course).......I can't wait to see what you do with this one John. Especially since you're adding more "bells and whistles" which I'm not sure what that means as you do an excellent job on all your builds of adding them. Cheers dude!
cobraman Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Oh boy ! An early Christmas gift for all us mortals ! Outstanding !!!
Mooneyzs Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 John... It's great to see you are really close to starting this. I can't wait to see what you do to this build. I know for a fact that it will be killer with your skills. But before you start this I think you have a tank and fender you need to paint mister... . This is going to be a fun build to follow.
Scott Colmer Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) I liked the first one a lot! Can't wait to see what round 2 looks like. Edited December 7, 2015 by Scott Colmer
Nytrozilla Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Wow John, really? Sheesh. You give a guy a little taste of fancy front wheel fairings and ya' just go nutz. Do you have NOOO self control?Guess I need to stock up on coronary medication. I've got oxygen and sunglasses standing by too.

Nytrozilla Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I love the "Ghost Car" pics with the center of the car missing. Sweet sir.
GoatGuy Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) My good buddy John, I can't wait to see more of this. I know it will be another great build, but you probably shouldn't take pics of your car in the microwave. You might accidentally hit the Start button. Ha. Keep us droolin' for more.... Edited December 9, 2015 by GoatGuy wrong spelling
Magic Photos Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 John this is a car I have wanted to do for years, thanks now I can watch a master do it first. Then I can learn from watching. The Enderle Injector and Hat is from Mark Johnson and the wheel pants are from Greg Fox. These 2 guys do great work, I have a lot of there products. Everyone should check them out for there future builds. Sorry guy I did not give credit were credit was do.
