I started with the Monogram Porsche 924 Rally with racing bits from the Group 4 version, which was an incomplete kit I bought on eBay.

Other bits and pieces include:

Parts box racing steering wheel and seat.

Seat belts with PE hardware.

PE fuel filler.

ESCI Porsche 934 wheels and tyres.

Tamiya Porsche 934 decals.

Removed moulded in headlight lenses and replaced with clear ones.

Sanded off the moulded in wiper and replaced with parts box one.

It was airbrushed with Tamiya rattle can orange.

Any criticism or comments welcome!

Very nice Chris. I still need to give you a call sometime soon. Love the setting, reminds me of the old Kayalami pits.

Very nice! I had five 924/944's, so I may be bias, but that is a clean job resurrecting parts of it. I was surprised to see no rear wing but looking it up I do see many group 4 924's didn't use one. I love the widened fenders! Do you have any photos of the front from lowed down?

I'm still working on a build of that Monogram 924 rally kit with contributions from an Arii 924 to make the '81 turbo I had.. Haven't gotten to far with it so maybe this post will get me back to it. :)

Omg that's gorgeous! Well done! How do you airbrush a rattle can? Just curious. And BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH your diorama makes mine look like Lego ?

I decanted the paint, let it gas out and then airbrushed.

Agreed, very, very well done.  I'm currently working on the "plain jane" 924 Turbo.  The nose and tail are a bit challenging to get lined up.  If I can get it to look 1/2 as good as yours - I'll be most happy.

THis is super great! I am working on an original issue stock body 924 kit and just received the Group 4 kit. Can't wait to start. Won't be as good as yours, but I'll have fun. Do you, or anyone, know if the bodywork in this kit was based on an actual 1:1 racer?

Gary I couldn't find any pictures or reference to a 1:1 car like the one on the box. There were a lot of similar looking vehicles though.
