om617
I was going thru some boxes of junkers and parts cars and i thought this was to good to throw, the glass is perfect, but missing a headlight lens and front bumper. I threw it into the Purple Power now to remove the "lovely" salomon color. Have not done any really old cars,so i hope to do it justice, custom or not. Off to google to look for ideas i guess. Thanks for looking.
jjsipes
Will be following as I have had one for years and don't really know what to do with it. Interested in what you come up with.
PowerPlant
Nice car... This might just get me inspired to continue with mine BTW, if you need a stock bumper, I have one for you... Let me know. Edited March 4, 2016 by PowerPlant
om617
Looking at preferance pictures help a lot for inspiration/motivation. Matija,do you have any pictures of the bumper? If not mistaken this kit came with stock & custom bumpers?
slownlow
Here's one I did a few years ago. I did have it on my Fokti site but I quit them when they started charging. The top is chopped a 3", the curve of the trunk area is softened with a transverse pie section and fender fades were added. Also for s*** and giggles I did a tuck and roll interior. There are a lot of interesting stylistic features originally on these old Plymouths and I'm not sure why they didn't combine to make a more pleasing car. Any way this is my attempt to make it more better.

Ace-Garageguy
Some of these were actually molded in a "lovely salmon color". It was popular, believe it or not, on cars of the period. Lots of possibilities for a stocker, mildly-rodded version, gasser or full-blown custom. Edited March 6, 2016 by Ace-Garageguy
High octane
Nice job o that build Bob, I've also seen that Mopar done as a "gasser" and it was lookin' good as well.
Jantrix
I have this kit also and I'm working on a plan for it. I've always seen the '41 Plymouth as a really pretty girl with bad teeth. The body is great and very stylish, they just bolted on a lot of ugly. I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with this. om617
It's the stock bumpers, like on the pic of the car above Sweet! Shoot me an PM and let me know what you want/trade for them.
om617
Bob that is a cool build, like the extension of the front fenders, chop and taillights on the bumper. Bill you are right on the colors, this one is thankfully molded in grey-ish. Mild custom is the plan, but who knows,it might derail Rob might be somthing to it. I find most cars to have potential,ride-height,color and wheels are 90% as for the looks.

Greg Myers
Always a kit you wonder how to build, great choice Tommy.
om617
Thanks for the feedback. The kit has lot of potential,i`m just waiting for that paint to let go,really stubborn stuff Found another oldie in another box,the AMT 40 Ford. It looks to be complete. Really exciting to search thru boxes i have not look at for 25 years.
wayne swayze
I bought one of these when they first came out ( stock only). I swapped in the extra engine from the AMT '49 Merc which I believe was a 413 cu. in. Chrysler. It was an attempt to build a gasser. I had fun with it! Sold it years ago for $2! om617
Gassers are wild. As for my taste i guess i would fall into the low and slow crowd. I really dig this one. http://fueltank.cc/blog/2015/11/18/1941-plymouth-coupe
om617
Put some coats of primer to look for flaws, plenty ugly lines on the front end. Need to lower it way more. This kit has steel axle front and rear,so the front need to go,and spindles being made instead. I do enjoy the looks of the wide whitewall tires,i think i`ll go with them. Got a 392 for it,put in the stripper tonight. Edited March 15, 2016 by om617
misterNNL
I like the real lowered green custom one a lot. That bulbous body actually looks pretty cool in that style.

om617
Yeah Tom you captured the late 80s style with the colors, pretty cool looking. I put on a coat of silver base last night, and today i planned on put on light coats of clear blue but the can decided to spit on it wich ruined everything,so i`ll have to do it all over.
