BlackDragon Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Hello to all, for my Kenworth Bullnose i want to build up a trailer of the fifities. Unfortunately there is no kit available, so i must a little bit improvise. The trailer should look like this: I used this kit and a Die-Cast model from Ertl. I dismantled the trailer from the GMC model and cast the front of the trailer in resin. The fifty trailer is not so high and not so long as the 40 ft. dry goods trailer. Therefore i cut of some parts from the walls of the Ertl kit. On the right side of the trailer there is a door, i shortened the walls to just the door. Next step is to shorten the floor and the roof and fit the height of the back doors. Hope the result will look like the trailer on the picture. Greetings, Michael
Superpeterbilt Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Very cool conversion. I have thought of doing this same thing, as I have a few of the diecast trailers. Keep up the good work.
BlackDragon Posted April 10, 2016 Author Posted April 10, 2016 Thanks Terry, it was not so easy to dimantle the trailer. It is bolted but you cant not reach the bolts because the floor is snaped with eight plastic-pins so i must use a saw to separate them. But it is easy to rebuild the trailer. No one will see that is was dismantled.
Mopar - D Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 This is going to be a cool looking trailer. Great idea using the diecast trailer for parts.

BlackDragon Posted November 20, 2016 Author Posted November 20, 2016 Now he is ready, i casted the Backdoor, glued aluminium foil on the side and polished the front and the back with chrome powder. The hole thing is not perfect, but my first try to do as is. Best wishes to all, Michael
