Joel Naprstek Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Really nice Jim! I saw that car run on opening day at Island Dragway in NJ, sometime in March '65 ... also many times around the east after that. Joel
1320wayne Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Superb job Jim. I myself can't wait to get started on some subjects from these kits. In recent weeks I have been corresponding with Gene and Becky at Slixx regarding more decals for these kits. There's talk of them reissuing the 5 and 50 decal sheet for the sedan as well as looking at other viable options for this kit; even some subjects from more modern times. Only time will tell.
DrKerry Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Great build, I took a couple pics of it myself at the NNL..... Love the look of it... See ya got a few of my junkers in the back ground too.... LOL
caine440 Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I did not know about this kit coming out a few years back so I have a resin body I was going to use for this build, looks like the kit will make life easier You did a outstanding job on your build.
Chi-Town Hustler Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Absolutely SUPERB build of a historic drag car....Jenkins' short stint with a hemi and he made that thing hum too!....The Grump would be proud!!
Jim_Kampmann Posted May 22, 2016 Author Posted May 22, 2016 Here are a couple more shots I had taken a few days ago. Thanks again, everyone! I still need to add a rear license plate bracket and bumper guards (yes, Bill had them for whatever reason!). Jim Kampmann
High octane Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Well, this is funny, when Garrett and I were looking at the cars he mentioned he really liked that one. I took a photo for him...I did not know it was yours. I never really looked at any of the build sheets. LOL.By lookin' at the "build sheets" or table cards you find out who built the model, and maybe you already know that person or you might meet him at the event. That's why I was told by a fellow club member not to cover my name on the table card when I put it next to my build.
John Pol Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Great job where did you get those carbs from they look killer
Jim_Kampmann Posted May 23, 2016 Author Posted May 23, 2016 Great job where did you get those carbs from they look killerThanks John. I believe they were taken from the AMT '60 Ford Starliner kit. Jim Kampmann
curb Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Very nice build. I'm wondering if using the Moebius / Model King '65 Plymouth Melrose Missle would be a good kit to build the "Black Arrow"?
gtx6970 Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Very nice build. I'm wondering if using the Moebius / Model King '65 Plymouth Melrose Missle would be a good kit to build the "Black Arrow"? no.the Melrose car is a hardtop. the black arrow was a sedan. A sedan was recently released But its wedge engine car.A better option is wait for the model king Butch Leal car
curb Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 (edited) I understand what you are saying.. I was thinking of using the Sedan and the hemi and interior from the Moebius / Model King '65 Plymouth Melrose Missle.. Another question ..is the interior of the Moebius / Model King '65 Plymouth Melrose Missle correct? The reason I ask is I have seen photos of the interior and the car had the interior panels and seats that match the Moebius sedan. Edited November 6, 2017 by curb
gtx6970 Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 I'm afraid i cant answer that one. I don' have one of the newer sedan kits. To know exactly what interior is in it. I do have the Melrose car. But havent opened it to ck what interior is in it.I'm guessing the same interior as the street hardtop.
El Caballo Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 It's fun to kit bash a car into something unique, great job.
Jim_Kampmann Posted November 7, 2017 Author Posted November 7, 2017 Bill is correct, the Butch Leal California Flash '65 Plymouth A990 Sedan would be the correct kit to build the Black Arrow. My sources tell me the Flash kit will be available around the end of this month. Thanks again for the continued interest in my model, I really appreciate it. Jim Kampmann
Terminator-Fox Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 Man that is stunning Too bad I couldn't make it to that show to see it in person.
Straightliner59 Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Excellent work, Jim! That baby looks just right!
El Caballo Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 So we should expect you to be making the flash? Hope so...
