Just needs oversized wheels in the back, and posed in launch mode. I like the Pontiac wheels in the back, wish I had 'em. They match one's to a promo I have.

I'm going to be posting some not so bad and really bad models for the cost of postage. And did you get the other package? . :-) Just got it today. They held it up because I had to pay $3.65 to get it because it was in a Priority Box. The moral of the story is, don't use the Priority Boxes! Haven't had a chance to open it yet, but I'm sure whatever's in it will be worth $3.65, so, thanks in advance!

I was being facetious with my 'Palmer Prototype' response ... though I recognise that you were hip to my snarky tone . The sample kit from the O.P. certainly is too accurate to be anything that Palmer plopped-out

Lol At least yours still has all the parts in their proper places. My hearse looks like it was built by Freddie Krueger. I do like it this way, though, looks like it would make a usable farmers truck. The mismatched wheels and dumped back end make it look like it needs to be carrying a load.

Here's my submission: For me to work on one that bad, it would have to be something VERY rare that I wanted a LOT. Come to think of it, I have, at least once. I bought an original annual AMT '66 Mustang FB that had about that much paint on it, and had had all four wheel openings hacked into dirt-track-like proportions to boot. I ended up just stripping the roof, then cutting it off and grafting it onto a new common HT kit. Edited April 28, 2018 by Snake45

Look again....those front fenders are actually the stock REAR fenders (?). I agree; it really has that farm truck look; if it had the proper front fender/nose section it would be a no-brainer.

That gives me an idea for a 50s style custom with a rounded out nose to the grille area. Hmm, that'd be different. I'm going to use that idea. Or maybe I'll use it to build a better interpretation of the Barris Wild Kat pickup. Thanks!

I did the same thing, using a street freak 65 Mustang and the coupe, I restored the body, but now I need the interior. I also want to do that with an AMT Iron Horse Mustang and a 68 Shelby - if Round 2 ever reissues the Mustang.

If not....don't we all miss Modelhaus? That Camaro is pure '70's....slap a set of sidepipes on it, cut some speaker holes in the rear package shelf (for your Led Zeppelin) and you're on your way!

The Cad needs chrome. I found that the Johan ambulance parts can fit with some modifications, but that's a 66, this is a 65. I'll have to wait and see. I'd rather restore it and not modify it. I like your idea about the Camaro. I'd like to use the chassis from the new tool Camaro and the Baldwin Motion has the look you're talking about, so I may go with it. I've always wanted to make a 70s street machine. I want to correct the nose piece first. I never thought that AMT did this area right, and it always bugs me. The headlight areas should have a curve to them, not just jut out flat. There's not many choices for 74 to 77 Camaros, so I want to make this one accurate.

Have you considered seeking out a Hasagawa '66 Cad for parts? The front end fits a '65 like a glove, and the rear just needs minor mods to fit. Not perfect, but better than a Johan ambulance, and probably easier to obtain (anything with the Johan name connected to it is $$$). If you can improve the look of an AMT '74-77 Camaro front end, I would like to see how you do it....those things look like they ran into a brick wall. Anyone wanting to build a '74-77 Camaro should seek out the MPC kit . The MPC '74 pictured came with the wrong engine (big block) and I believe the wrong wheels (Z/28), but the common-as-dirt AMT '72 Nova has all the correct parts you need. And yes....I'm kinda still on-topic; that '74 is a former glue bomb...wish I had "before" pics.

Fine job on that Camaro, Mike.
pack rat Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Thanks for the compliments, guys. Might as well contribute my three latest additions to the "restorable builtups" pile, including an MPC '77 Camaro (maybe a future Z/28). Yes....some day I'll see if I can get that Ranchero running across the kitchen floor.

Now I see, it's Revell's fault that so many Japanese model kits are motorized! But at least this Revell kit still has an interior and underhood details. ? I'll bet you can get it to run again, it looks like it's all there. Edited April 29, 2018 by Oldcarfan27
