sjordan2
Died too young. A very sad story, tied to Hollywood rampant racism. Here's another one for we in the AARP crowd:
SfanGoch
Dorothy Malone. She was in "The Killer That Stalked New York", with Evelyn Keyes, which was on TV last week. Charles (Carlos, the Mambo instructor from "The Honeymooners") starred as the dirty rat in this film
sjordan2
One thing I love about this thread is that the stars of yesteryear aren't being forgotten. They worked hard and had great careers for a while. Same goes for all media stars.
SfanGoch
If you have the opportunity, check out the actresses in pre-Motion Picture Production Code (also known as the "Hays Code) films. A lot of actresses who were stars in the late '30s to the '50s were cast in some meaty roles. That kind of skin wasn't seen again until 1968 when MPAA started rating films based on content. Harry P.
Yep. Those "pre-code" movies got quite racy. Actual nudity, yes, in the 1920s!
Harry P.
Barbara Hale aka Della Street. Yeah, Baby! She can be my sidekick anytime... BTW... did you know she's still with us? 90-something, I think, but still alive and kicking.

SfanGoch
What about: Barbara Parkins. She was in the series "Peyton PLace". I had to suffer through that dreck on TV as a kid because Mom loved the show. She also starred in "Valley of the Dolls" along with Patty Duke, Paul Burke (Det. Adam Flint in the TV series "Naked City"), Martin Milner (Tod Stiles in "Route 66" and Officer Malloy in "Adam-12") and Sharon Tate.
