Fat Brian Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 The AMT 70 Monte Carlo should have a 12 bolt in it, I don't know if the cover is removable but worse case scenario you could cut it off with a razor saw.
dragcarz Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Hey Chris, I ran into the same problem and ended up making my own. I was building the AMT 67 Camaro. I started with the kits rear axle. The factory covers have what I would call an eyebrow across the top portion of the cover. I've included a photo of a typical 12 bolt rear cover. I took a strip of plastic and glued it to the axle and filled and sanded it to the correct shape. At the time I just made bolt heads" 12 of them" and added them to the outer edge. There a little big here. I just tried to evenly space them apart according to the photo. I have since found Plastruct hex in really small sizes that I now use to recreate bolt heads. Hope this helps.

Ues...I like it!!!...I think I'm going to try that.I can make that.thank you for the idea a thoughts, parts.you did a great Idea.I'm building a rear axle for a 75 76 caprice.I took the rear axle out of a 72 nova kit..modded it to fit.but the rear axles which is suppose to look like a gm bolt... [ and does ok..I think]..but the rear cover is far from right.I also used the rear member only.the axle tubes are evergreen and kns tubing for the bushing.but like I said needed a better..more accurate rear axle cover...thank you....Chris

Sport Suburban Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 The best one that I could find in my stash is in the Revell 66 Chevelle wagons and 66 El Camino. It is a separate cover and looks right. It just does not have any bolt heads.
