thecrossguy Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 So here is my recently finished up model. It is box stock and features the factory colors of Dresden Blue and Colonial White. Matching interior and white wall tires. I seem to be on a Ford Craze cause I am currently working on a 1948 Ford Convertible. Anyways. I also attended the Performance Model Club Car Show in Mt.Vernon, WA. A great show with some excellent built models. My 1953 Hudson Hornet took Second Place in the factory stock class. If you'd like to see some photos of the show and some of my builds, check out my photo bucket at http://s1028.photobucket.com/user/Thecrossguy/story
CometMan Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Very well done T! Just a tip, though, since the Del Rio was based on the Fairlane, the middle section of the sweep spear should be gold.
gardnerpag44 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Very nicely done , really like the color combo on this one , Cool
Lovefordgalaxie Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 '57 Fords are getting popular here!! Go home '57 Chevys!! Nice wagon, by the way.
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 '57 Fords are getting popular here!! Go home '57 Chevys!! Nice wagon, by the way. I'd take a '57 Olds or Buick over either one of them any day of the week! Nice Ford T! Steve
Intmd8r Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Nice! Yet another reason to add this one to my collection!
espo Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Your wagon looks dead on, gold inset aside. I have owned two different '57 Fords years ago and the were every bit as nice as the '57 Chevrolet that I also had.
thecrossguy Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 Thanks for all the comments guys!! Glad everyone likes it. I'm not too sure what part is supposed to be gold. I was looking at some 1:1 photos. Do you mean the area on the side?
gman Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I agree with the kudos- nice job. Good looking long roof. ^^ this photo illustrates what CometMan was getting at should you want to change anything
thecrossguy Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 ok thats what i thought. the kit comes with the decals but they are green. I may just get some gold bmf. Thanks for the pic and tips!!
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 ok thats what i thought. the kit comes with the decals but they are green. I may just get some gold bmf. Thanks for the pic and tips!! The green decals were intended for the interior door panels. You could either foil the gold anodized area, or at this point it may be just as easy to paint them gold. Most times the gold foil looks too shiny for anodized trim anyway. Steve
CometMan Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 A gold Sharpie should give the anodized look rather well.
thecrossguy Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 sweet. I will add that to my list of hobby supplies.
