I was asked to do a tutorial on installing this brand of hood scoops to existing model hoods. I like using these better than using resin hoods, for various reasons, mainly the amount of work you usually have to put into a resin hood, I feel these scoops are less work. They can be adjusted to different heights, lengths, angles, and are open to lots of customization , and also cheaper, $3.99 for 2pcs.

Here's where I started from for this build, a '65 Impala.

The scoop is styrene?

I had the same thought.

Liquid cements make a poor bond between styrene and resin parts. CA would be better, but still looks to me like it would be insufficient during shaping, sanding and handling while finishing the seam.

I'd think a higher-strength epoxy would be preferable. 30 minute stuff minimum.

Yes, the WRP brand scoops are strene.

Cool indeed. Now I'm MUCH more interested in acquiring some. :D

The raw part has a definite vacuum-formed look about it. Now we know why.

Wilde Racing Products...all kinds of slot car products. Check this site for a list of products, which is Eagle Distributors, but you must be a business to order from them. I purchase mine from my local slot car raceway (Marks Model World), or you can find another company to buy from, also ebay sellers have some available, I just hate paying shipping if I don't have to.

Click on 'search all vendors', then drop down to Wilde Racing Prod., and hit search bar.

Sorry for the delay in finishing this, I became very busy lately. The hood is finished and in primer, just need to shoot a pic and post here. Thanks for the patience.
