YBlock292 Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 This is an AMT kit I have built a couple of years ago. In contrast to my actual builds I did not pay so much attention to the detailing o wheels and engine. I just took a few new pics this morning.
Hubert Rollins Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Nice model- I used to work for a car dealer who had a '71 Eliminator. Red like this one. It was restored right and was super nice.
Mercelo Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Wow, it looks nicely detailed to me. It's a very clean build, and certainly a rare kit to see all dolled up like this one. Nice job.....I'm inspired to build one now, thanks!
TooOld Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Great looking model even without the extra detailing of the wheels and engine , very nicely done ! And great photos too , the shot with the tire tread really shows how nice those tires are .
shoopdog Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Looks great, after seeing your fantastic looking Cougar I have to pick this kit up soon.
Harry P. Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Looks nice overall, but those wheels would really benefit from a black wash.
Snake45 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Looks nice overall, but those wheels would really benefit from a black wash.Or, even more, from having the steel Argent portions painted a flat aluminum color.
RestoModGuy Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 very nice build, I'm a Cougar fanatic, looks spot on, well done
Harry P. Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Or, even more, from having the steel Argent portions painted a flat aluminum color. Maybe they were also available in all chrome?
1930fordpickup Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Maybe they were also available in all chrome? Been to many an all Ford show never found a single chrome wheel on a car, silver and sometimes painted body color, that is not factory btw. Not that I am an expert or anything .

Not that I am an expert or anything . I looked it up. Factory Eliminator wheels were painted Argent, with stainless steel hubcaps and trim rings. All-chrome wheels were aftermarket only... so having them on the model isn't necessarily wrong. But a black wash would really help.
Monty Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 As far as paint, assembly and BMF scripts go, you did a great job. The color really suits the car well, too. Did those tires come in that kit? I have one or two variants of this kit, and they still had the old Polyglas GTs. If they aren't AMT tires, where'd you get them?
cook_dw Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Great build and like the choice of car.. Definitely a unique car.
