mchook Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Here is my 1930 Model A Ford doodlebug tractor. I started with some left over parts & scratch built what I needed. I wanted a tricycle front end & a worm gear rear. I added 2 transmissions & wired & plumbed it.
Badluck 13 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Being a tractor lover I have had a chance to see a few of these done up and you have nailed this. Very impressive!!
GT4494 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 looks great! might need a spark advance lever if you try to crank it up though. ?
Sixties Sam Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Very cool tractor. I've seen a couple similar to this at an antique machinery show nearby. They look like the farmer put them together with whatever he had on hand. They're unique!Sam
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Very Cool build!! I am a tractor nut too. I've seen quite a few of these over the years and you've nailed it. It makes me want to build one. Great work.As far a spark control goes, I had a 1936 W-30 McCormick that the lever was broken on. I just had to get off of the tractor to move the lever on the magneto. It's wasn't convenient, but it worked.
Spex84 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Love it! The worm-drive rearend is very well done, looks just like the 1:1 sitting in a clearing not far from where I live. I dig the little step-plate on the lefthand side too. Looks almost like the re-purposed top part of a car jack. And clever use of the axle bell as the vertical portion of the steering setup!Super cool.
Crazy Ed Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Great Job on both the Tractor and Diorama. Also good job with the Pics!
kilrathy10 Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Excellent work on this bad boy....As I was looking at the photos of the "in progress" stage, I could have sworn that first shot of the completed tractor was the 1:1 reference photo.....Excellent work, Man....Looks awesome....
gatorincebu Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Now that is cool ! great job on this build. Be Well Gator
