69NovaYenko Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Is there a 1:25 scale source for "Continental Kits" be they kitted or resin cast?
Snake45 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Dunno, but if you tell me any kits that had them, if I have that kit, be glad to send it/them to you. I can't imagine ever wanting/needing/using one.
Can-Con Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 The Revell '58 and '59 Chevys both have connie kits like in your pics. Thier '55 Chevy convertible has one in some issues. The first issue for sure, don't think it's in the Indy Pace Car issue though. Also, a lot of the old Annual kits from the early '60s had them.
Ramfins59 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Modelhaus makes the round continental tire cover as a 3 piece unit (front & back cover and chromed ring). They usually include those in their kits that come with a connie kit, but I was able to buy several of them from them separately a few years ago for $5 each. I made my own continental kit "deck" from sheet plastic. I've only made the full width continental kits as I think they look better than the "basket" style ones pictured above.

Craig Irwin Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Add the JoHan 63 Plymouth hardtop and the new Revell 57 Chevy convertible.

69NovaYenko Posted June 13, 2016 Author Posted June 13, 2016 Wow..I had no idea that there were several kits with Continental tire accessories. Frantastic...are there any more?
Ramfins59 Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I think the reissued '59 Imperial also came with a basket style continental kit.
69NovaYenko Posted June 13, 2016 Author Posted June 13, 2016 Many thanks Ramfins59 I will have to follow up on your suggestions.

Can-Con Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I have the 58 and '59 Chevy parts. I'm looking for a set of the big custom wheels and tires from the Resto Rods issue of the AMT '66 Galaxie or '66 Mustang. Here's what the boxes look like.

Tom Geiger Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Here's the one that's in the Revell '59 Chevy. It has a license plate mount that goes on the front of it. This one and it's bumper is on an ancient '59 Buick
