JustJake Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Has anyone posted pictures yet, especially of the decals, and I just missed it?
Edsel-Dan Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 InterestingBut the California plate is Not correct for the car supposedly used for patternsI do not see the "E" for Exempt or Emergency Vehicle Did those come later??? I Do HOPE I can get one or 2 some day
charlie8575 Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 I don't think the "E" plates showed up until the 1950s. I have a couple of people I can ask.I got mine last week- looks very nice. Now to pick a color. It appears Ford had only a gray interior in the Super DeLuxe and a tan interior in the DeLuxe. Aside from chrome vs. rubber stone-shields, there doesn't seem to be a lot of exterior difference between the two, so I'll just pick a color scheme I like and go with it. I'm leaning towards a shade of blue.If anyone here is more knowledgable about the interior color schemes and would care to share for all our education, I'd appreciate it (as would other rep-stock builders.)I love that they have Vermont plates on the sheet. Nice to see something from New England.Charlie Larkin
Edsel-Dan Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Not easy to see Upside Down as the pics of the decals are, But looking againI do Not think that one plate IS California!!!!I THINK it is Vermont!!! I Do wish the San Diego decals were included though!!!!

I apologize for the shakey camera work, that is why I posted three images, recovering from two surgeries and two months being bed ridden.
JustJake Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Some images , contrasted and compared to the '48 custom coupe roof on a '48 convertible body.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Hmmmm...the shape of the stock roof looks very good in those shots...
Sledsel Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 (edited) Still looks a bit flat on the roof, not a deal breaker though. The custom is chopped, so the roof changes a little, but stock "arch" shouldn't Edited July 12, 2016 by Sledsel
stavanzer Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Another question about the new '48 Ford Kit.Is the Nose/Grille section in pieces like the Chopped coupe? Pieces # 310-313, to allow for the custom grilles, or is it the stock only design as used in the '48 Woody?

stavanzer Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Ah, that what I wanted to know. I wish Revell had reused the Coupe front end, instead of the stock.
tim boyd Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Seven fresh pictures of a 1/1 '48 Ford Coupe greenhouse/roof area at this link....Best Regards.....TIM
Dave Van Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Don't leave us hangin Tim......what do YOU think!!!
stavanzer Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I think it has little bitty tail-lights! Are the '50 :Pontiac tail-lights beloved of Rodders smaller?
tim boyd Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Don't leave us hangin Tim......what do YOU think!!!Dave..have not had time to compare yet....working on building two versions of the Revell '30A Five Window coupe.....TIM PS - As I've said before, it is really dangerous to try to draw conclusions on body proportions by comparing model bodies to pictures of the 1/1.....you really need to photograph the model, with the same camera, lense, and photo angle, then compare the pictures. Even more insightful if the model is built and painted before the photography......TB f

When I take the new Revell body out to the barn and my 1/1 46 coupe......it looks good to me. I think you have a good critical eye and have seen a good number of 1/1 cars. thx
carnut Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Well, l finally got my replacement kit, I gave my first one away to a kid last weekend. This kit looks like it will sell well. The roof looks a bit odd, but that might be just me. If the roof is just a bit off it is very fixable.cant wait to tear into this. Moonshine runner.
John Goschke Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Just picked up the kit over the weekend. Body looks reasonably close to the 1/1 to my eye.The frame in my kit is pretty twisted though. Anybody found this in theirs? Hoping it'll straighten out with some judicious tweaking...

Perfect moonshine runner for sure!!!
Dave Van Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 The 1/1 stock coupe roof is a bit odd......very complex set of curves side to side and front to back.......then there is a complex curve of the 'C' pillars. check my 1/1 a few posts back!!!!
Casey Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 On 6/18/2016 at 11:21 PM, fomocomav said: Has anyone posted pictures yet Content pics here: http://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/843/revell-ford-police-coupe-2n1 It's a very nice kit, but as mentioned earlier, this kit only allows you to build a stock version. The police parts (and there are very few of them) are simply tacked on to the stock car, so this is more like a 1.25'n 1. The contents are mostly shared with the earlier Revell-Monogram Pro Modeler and later Revell '48 Ford Convertible kits, and though I wish Revell would've seen fit to release the stock Coupe first, it was well worth the wait. Perhaps we'll see a modified reissue of the Coupe in a few years with a street rod type option, similar to the Revell '40 and '48 Ford kits.
Jantrix Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Isn't there a Greased Lightning convertible being released?

Sledsel Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 (edited) Like the chopped coupe, the windshield is too tall and the rear quarter window is too big and shaped wrong.. Edited March 24, 2018 by Sledsel
Casey Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 (edited) 9 hours ago, Casey said: 34 minutes ago, Sledsel said: the rear quarter window is too big and shaped wrong.. I see that, too. There needs to be more material between the drip rail and top edge of the rear quarter window opening. I would say the top edge of the door's window frame needs more upward arch, too, as it's nearly flat. The upper front corner needs more radius, too, which I think would be mostly alleviated after the top section receives more arch. 34 minutes ago, Sledsel said: the windshield is too tall I will disagree there, and in fact, I would lean the other way if anything. The roof overall looks too flat, like it was raised from a chopped roof...which, well, maybe it was. It's not easy to compare with a real car as the Revell kit's windshield also includes the gasket, too, so without that in place, I will admit I don't have 100% confidence in my eyes.
