Petetrucker07 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I'm not sure if this question has been asked before. My own laziness to dig through pages to find it. I'm wondering what kits have a Duvall style windshield and if they're currently available or hard to find.
RancheroSteve Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 The only one I know of in kit form is in the AMT '32 Ford Phantom, but Replicas & Miniatures offers at least a couple to fit different bodies.
ChrisBcritter Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 The Pyro/Lifelike/Lindberg 1935 Auburn has one.
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 This is the DuVall in the AMT kit mentioned above. It's a nice piece. Rik Hoving mastered these. The one on the far left is the R&M resin part, which is a real little jewel... This race-car looking unit is out there too, but from which kit I don't know. Then there's the Hallock style, which could be cut down from a DuVall... This is how the gifted Mr. Hoving made his masters, which is also an option...
ChrisBcritter Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 This race-car looking unit is out there too, but from which kit I don't know. It's from the Lindberg '29 Mercedes SSK.
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 It's from the Lindberg '29 Mercedes SSK. Thank you, sir.
RancheroSteve Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Some good history about George DuVall and the windshield that bears his name here: http://www.coachbuilt.com/des/d/duvall/duvall.htm
DumpyDan Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 The Monogram kit 1930's Cord has one in it, I have used it myself few years back
sjordan2 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 The Pyro/Lifelike/Lindberg 1935 Auburn has one.The Auburn could really use a more accurate windshield. The resin version above looks a bit better (top and center post need to be much thinner).
Tom Geiger Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Since we're talking interesting windshields... here's the dual panes that are custom parts on the Beverley Hillbillies Truck. I thought they were interesting enough to use on a project.
Mr. Metallic Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 It's from the Lindberg '29 Mercedes SSK. Thanks for the parts I'd. I've wanted that windshield since I saw it on Bill's roadster and have been lusting after it. Now I know where to find it.
Dennis Lacy Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 The Ebay prices of Lindberg '29 Mercedes just went up!
Mr. Metallic Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 The Ebay prices of Lindberg '29 Mercedes just went up! Well, it looks simple enough to scratchbuild, but who wants to spend time doing that lol?
Petetrucker07 Posted June 22, 2016 Author Posted June 22, 2016 Thanks for info guys. This some very good info.
