Sam I Am Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Well, I figured it was time to surface after the big move over the last year. (still not finished though) I have been having a tough time getting and staying motivated at the bench. I saw this just last week and stopped to take some pics today. I have always wanted to build a log truck, and I think this will be the motivation. It just came out of the paint shop. I actually think I have all the parts in that HUGE collection I acquired a little over a year ago. Somebody happened to be there and opened the hood for me and let me take pictures of the cab as well. I know some of the owners of the yard and will try and see somebody during business hours so I can get more pics of the other trucks. I have more shots for reference, but these give you an idea of the overall appearance. I also took some pics of these two trucks. Are they 378 Pete's? All of the pics can be seen here. http://s40.photobucket.com/user/sampamandfam/library/1976 Stretched Pete
Leonidas Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Super nice pictures Sam, thanks for sharing! I wish AMT would re-release their old Kenworth 900 kits again. I'd have a whole fleet of them if I could.Anyway look forward to any logging truck WIP you might start Sam.
leafsprings Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 (edited) Great photos of the KW. Amazing what fresh paint does to these timeless classic trucks. IMO, nothing gets more inspiring than an old narrow nose logger with bias ply tires and lock ring wheels. As a modeler, I build what I like to look at, I could care less if it rides like a tank, under powered, difficult to shift, hard to stop and aerodynamics of a brick. I believe this Pete was owned by Redwood Logging. Edited June 21, 2016 by leafsprings
guitarsam326 Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 That KW looks good but those boys dont believe in masking do they??
Tesla Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I sure hope you have everything to build the KW logger. The colors look real nice!
Sam I Am Posted June 28, 2016 Author Posted June 28, 2016 That KW looks good but those boys dont believe in masking do they?? Well, it is a work truck.
Atmobil Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 This is not a real one, but one can drive it in the game MudRunner with the American Wilds addon. A Chevy Bison.
leafsprings Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Found the logo for Redwood Construction, same company in earlier post of the Pete Logger.
Tom Geiger Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Just dug into my photo archives for a few images....
