Kennyboy Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 (edited) Jc was the first to start a thread on his build (and his will more than likely be better than mine) but here goes... I started my build last month. The kit I started with was the original at monza ss kit. I am going to build my car as one of the later models (phase 3 to 4 mostly) this will make it easier to distinguish it from others that were/are done. The wing uprights are scratch built, and the wing itself was borrowed from the parts bin. Wheels and tires are Porsche 935, engine is a 350 from the El Camino ss kit, cut off the transmission and replaced with the monza kit transmission, valve covers were parts box....stacks and eyelets were add-ons. Can-Con Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Man, you guys are really making me want to revisit this old thing I did back around '83 or so. LOL. The rear wing was based on a street driven IMSA Monza featured in one of the magazines at the time. [Hope the pics are OK, I'll remove them in you like]

JTalmage Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Sweet! and here all I wanna do with one is recreate the leafblower Monza from Roadkill.
Davewilly Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Looks Pretty good! I also have one on the work bench right now ...only a street machine version that a friend on mine had back in 82 had a 350 create motor in it. It was a quick little thing.

Kennyboy Posted July 1, 2016 Author Posted July 1, 2016 Thanks guys for the comments and interest....progress has been slow going and a LOT of mockup is involved. Here is the recent updates. Got the interior close to done and the front end starting to take shape....still needs a lot of work but is starting to look like something.
Kennyboy Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Got some more work done on the roll cage......it does sit flush, I just have it sitting loose.
afx Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Looks good Ken. What 935 are you using as a donor, The AMT kit?
bobthehobbyguy Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Nice. Amazing. Seldom see IMSA cars. And we are getting 3 different versions of Monza.
