CarLover Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 HeyHow can i mix engine orange with tamiya paint? I don't have access to any orher manufacturer that made the chevy orange Thanks
Snake45 Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 X6 Orange looks like it should be in the ballpark. If it looks too orange and not red enough for you, add some red.
slusher Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Model Master has an acrylic for Chevrolet engine orange/red. The best one out of their engine colors in my opinion...

Model master i can get in ebay but they didn't have there engine orange only engine redIf you're painting a big block Chevy (396/427/454), or certain late '60s small blocks, the Model Master Chevy Engine Red--a brilliant red-orange--is exactly what you want. All the muscle-era Chevy big blocks were this color. Earlier in the decade, small blocks were painted a very orange orange, like Testor little bottle orange. I've been trying to find out at what point (and on what particular engines) they went to the more red (red-orange) color.
Exotics_Builder Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 For sure my 68 Z/28 came with the red orange block. I think the same for 1967. No reliable info on earlier

I also seem to recollect my parents' 65 Impala SS 327 300HP was red orange (but it had a Powerglide ) Their other Chevy was a 62 Chevy II with the 4 banger. I don't remember the engine color on that.
