0703161758a.thumb.jpg.44de0e2a2543c94f37Hey everyone. Since I'm waiting on paint to dry, I decided to take out the Fairlane and do some mockup.  The plan is bright white with a red interior, and a red rocker stripe. Power will come from a 427 with a 5 speed. The wheels are Casey's resin pro touring steel wheels that will be painted to match the car. I haven't decided if I'm going to use the kit hubcaps or just leave the wheels plain. Thanks for looking!

I am going for something like this.

I tried the 427 kit hubcaps, and I think they look perfect on the larger diameter wheels. I think these are keepers.

A little update on the Fairlane. I've wanted redlines on a few of my last builds, but I couldn't figure out how to do them. But today, I think I got it. I think it definately adds to the look. And I also added separate plated door handles from the Revell 69 Talladega kit

I too am a fan of this car and the direction you're taking it.  I hope you go "nuts" detailing the engine, that is a great pic you shared of the 1:1.   cheers, tim

Nice build, they just don't make like that anymore. The lines are so sexy on these 'ol girls. I am looking forward to see the finished details of the engine bay.

Your Fairlane looks fantastic. But the inspiration car has me a little confused. What are they running for suspension? specifically the hubs and axles. I've never seen a 10 lug setup before other than 1 ton pickup's.

Aftermarket steel wheels on the real car, that come with ten holes for both Ford and GM bolt patterns, meant to be covered by a hub cap. The owner put 5 more dummy lug nuts in the unused holes.

Hey guys. A small update. I put some color on the interior panels, Testors Italian red laquer. I got some flocking on the floor as well. Going to start the engine and chassis detailing next. All comments welcome!0717161919_HDR.thumb.jpg.7df11aa5aeb5df3

Hey guys! I finally got a little time at the table today. I washed the panel lines and cowl vent on the Fairlane. Shot a few coats of Tamiya clear on it as well. I decided to go with a smooth engine compartment. A little styrene and some sanding and filling and paint and that's that.  Next is the engine. I can't decide if I want the 427 side oiler or a SOHC 427. We shall see.

I know this is an older thread, but I'm working on this kit right now and this post came up in the search. Did this build ever get finished? Sure would like to see it.
