mangodart Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 (edited) Hi guys, Back with a new built : this time a 37 Chevy Coupe by AMT. Bone stock to the 6 Stovebolt. Don't know if you ever built this kit but final assembly is a nightmare !!! Nothing feats !!!! And it's a pity because AMT did a very nice job back then with the engraving of the detail and the overhall line of the car !!! Anyway, I'm quite happy with the result, it's box stock expect for the little wiring. Color is from Mopar ( a 67 one ) but looks very close to the "Ottawa Blue Poly" from the 37 color chip. Hope you'll like it Edited July 22, 2016 by mangodart
bbowser Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 I like this a lot, something different than a Ford from that era. Love the Stovebolt 6 banger.
Chuckyg1 Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 It's nice to see one of these represented in stock form for a change. Clean build, love the color.
CometMan Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Great job, Emmanuel! I love cars from that era, like mentioned earlier, I get bored with all the Fords out there! I have the newest version of that kit in my stash, it leers at me every time I go into that room, but I have heard about the fit issues of that kit. You may have inspired me to give it a go!
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Very nice!! The 37 Chevrolet has always been one of my favorites. Great work!!

Thanks for the nice comments. If I can give you an advice, don't hesitate to do a lot of try before final assembly, especially with the interior bucket feet inside
Fanof69 Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 (edited) Very nice build of a 'difficult' model Emmanuel!! I know from experience as I build the same kit just last year and it looks and sounds like we had the same fit issues. Such as hood fit and the rear wheels looking a bit too big for the wheel wells. Again very well done!!! Wish mine would have come out that nice Edited July 23, 2016 by Fanof69
Lovefordgalaxie Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Nice looking Chevrolet. Loved the Ford rear bumper. I built the convertible version of this kit, a long time ago. It got destroyed when I moved back in 2006. It was red with a gray interior. Wish I still had it.
feretzrus Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Fantastic! Love to see work done on a custom/street machine/race car etc. to make it factory stock.Wonder what it would take to make this a Pontiac?
mangodart Posted July 25, 2016 Author Posted July 25, 2016 Thanks for the comments, Nice red on yours Terry
Jantrix Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Yep. It's a challenging kit. In my opinion those tires are too large for the car. However, you you did an excellent build up. The '37 has some of the best styling of the period, IMHO.
