Porscheman Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Just something I through together over the weekend. I know, the door handles are missing, they fell on the floor and Cheyenne the dog got hold oh them. Got more coming in the mail. Thanks for looking, Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
bbowser Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Great job on the foiling, metal transfers, and wood parts. Well done.
Ramfins59 Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Great job Al. I've also got one of these in my TO DO pile.
wayne swayze Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 How can you build such a terrific looking model in a weekend? Very nice indeed!
CometMan Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Very nice, Al! I have one of those waiting it's turn too.
StevenGuthmiller Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Sharp Al!And you couldn't have picked a better color!Excellent! Steve
Porscheman Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 Thank you everyone. The paint is Dupli-color Dark Toreador Red over Black Primer with Testors Wet Look Clear top coat.
BigTallDad Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Very nicely done, great color selection, and excellent foil work.Did you notice the firing order (in raised numbers) on the exhaust manifold? Galaxie did a great job in paying attention to detail on this series of kits.I understand the door handles, but where is the vertical bar in the center of the grille, indicating it's a '48? The primary visual difference between the '47 and 48 models was that bar...absent on the '47, present on the '48. I say this as a former owner of a 1:1 '47 (my very first car) with an aftermarket vertical bar.
Mr Stock Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 It would take me 3 months to get a model looking that good, very nice job Al.
Burnout Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 That is really beautiful. The paint & wood are perfect.Weekends must be longer on the East side. I can't even decide what color to paint an engine block in so little time.
Harry P. Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Wow! That's a thing of beauty. I think that is the best model you have ever posted. Nice work.
