bismarck Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) Jamie sold the rotator?!! Things must be tight... Yeah, I watch that show when ever I can catch it on. Its kinda hit or miss for us down here, but I binge watch it whenever it comes on. Edited August 1, 2016 by bismarck
Leonidas Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) Yeah, I quite like the show too. I remember on the show Jamie said he missed being out in the trucks and things would be easier if he downsized. I guess he followed his heart and did just that. Shame about the rotator, that truck was a beast! I wonder if the "General" is still in the fleet. I always liked seething that old truck on the show too.I look forward to the show coming back on. Thanks for the pics, always great to see Jamie's trucks. Edited August 1, 2016 by Leonidas
highway Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I've seen every episode probably about a half a dozen times each!!! I used to drive heavy wrecker back in the younger days, so "Highway Thru Hell" was a must watch for me just like the old Speed Channel series "Wrecked" that followed O'Hare Towing in Chicago. I hate to hear Jamie sold the rotator, but at least I get to see it every day, I have a pic of it as a background just like O'Hare's "Mistress"!
bismarck Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 (edited) I can appreciate that "you gotta do what ya gotta do" to keep the bills paid. I always liked watching that show, especially in the middle of July with 90+ temps watching re-runs of Jamie and the crew working in 3-4 feet of snow. Bad weather aside, I hope he keeps making a go of it. Edited August 2, 2016 by bismarck

bismarck Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I like the show, and i hope it keeps going, but that job would be hard enough to do without tripping over a camera crew to do your job. I know that they agreed to be filmed for the show, but that's GOTTA get pretty old after awhile.
Mike77 Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 I like the show, and i hope it keeps going, but that job would be hard enough to do without tripping over a camera crew to do your job. mikemodeler Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I'm sure they're well compensated for their inconvenience! Depends. If they split the money with all of the featured people, then it might only be a couple of thousand dollars or less per person per episode.Sounds great, but its not like they film 20-30 episodes for a season like a lot of TV shows, so it might only be $10,000 for a whole season. Then again, Jamie Davis probably gets a bigger slice as the show is centered around him and I would think he used some of his TV money to buy that $750,000 rotator. Unlike some of the other reality TV shows, there probably isn't as much opportunity to cash in on merchandising and personal appearance fees as tow truck drivers aren't in as much demand as motorcycle building father and sons.

bismarck Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 anybody ready for season 5 of Highway thru Hell? it starts on Sept 13 on Discovery channel. Scott Bird is back this year as lead hand as Jamie has downsized & come back to his mountain roots, the Coquihalla (yay!)-alberta wrecks are boring anyways, mostly just guys sliding off the roads...lol See how Collin can handle the hills.... the other day, one of Aggressive Towing driver's got hit by a truck. Aggressive is owned by Jamie's brother Jason & has been on the show many times. The driver, Dustin (made a minor appearances on one show) had both legs smashed up pretty badly, & some deep cuts to his head, they heli-vac'ced him to the hospital, but he should make a long, slow recovery. He had just finished loading the mini-van & was climbing back in the truck when 2 rubber-necker motorists collided & the cube van hit Dustin you have prob seen Aggressive's trucks on the show he hauls some cool stuff... working with Jamie this new flatdeck has been at the yard by our shop a lot Scott's new truck be seeing these two a lot, Jamie's Peterbilt looks like a toy next to HR117 this un-tagged unit showed up at the yard by our shop, when i went by later, it had Jamie Davis signs on the door and this Freightliner flatdeck have'nt seen before either and sorry Leith, the old General is no more, cut up for scrap, Jamie did keep the deck https://review.bellmedia.ca/view/828689529 Thanks for the heads up!! I'll be tuning in!!

mk11 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 (edited) Nice picture show; heck of a way to end a few vacations. Hope they hammer that d-head... Came through the rogers pass towards golden fri nite. A little hairy in places; saw one rig flopped on heather hill iirc, facing downhill in the uphill side ditch with the top to the wall. Oh, and a three car law takedown on a pair of tall 4x4s east of revelstoke . mike Edited October 18, 2016 by mk11

Was working in Hope yesterday & seen Jamie Davis with a film crew apparently next yr will be better....besides Jamie's antique "Mighty Mo" wrecker, word is he is looking at this chassis for a new rotator....wow Now that'll be a beast! And they thought mine was unrealistic ...
