First time building this kit, only messing with the body for now. i decided to cut the window moldings out and shave the drip rail off, literally my first time ever cutting into a model. I had to sand and re-prime about 4 times because the lines kept ghosting through, definitely learned a lot though. Im happy with the results, but now I'm stumped, I painted it satin black so I could try a polished or brushed aluminum finish on top, but now I really like the satin black!!! Let me know what you think.

I did not use Tamiya primer as pictured, I used Automotive Touchup sandable primer spray can, it worked great and sanded so smooth.

This was my original Inspiration, but I got some thinking to do now.

This vehicle reminds me of the car Sylvester Stallone used in the movie COBRA. Nice work. Well done!!

I didn't know that car but your right! Love itcobra-mercury-1950-1.thumb.jpg.fcf7a35eb

Very nice start. The only way to reconcile your delima is to buy a second kit and build it with the aluminum paintjob. Sounds like an easy fix to me.
